The PKR WPT Ireland took place in Dublin from January 5 - January 9.
Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman was the first casualty after a "live misclick" saw him accidentally raise half of his 30,000 stack with pocket tens and run into queens on the very first hand. |
PKR's latest pro Jake Cody arrived, fresh off yet another final table and five-figure score in Nottingham.

Northern Irish pro Andy Black managed to build up a top 10 stack on Day 1

Sam Trickett hoped to expand on his amazing 2011 tournament success

Despite the big names in the field, local pro and PLO specialist Dave Callaghan lead the survivors into Day 2
The final table was set after Dave Shallow's pocket jacks came from behind against aces and kings to eliminate two players and give him a monstrous chip lead
Our five-handed final table: Dave "Dubai" Shallow (far right) had almost twice the chips of all four other players combined
Steve Watts was the first to leave after losing a flip against Ronan Gilligan
| Patrik Vestlin's chips were the next to head Gilligan's way as he left in 4th place |
Ronan Gilligan found himself with a big stack after eliminating the first two players
However his chips went to Chaz Chattha then Dave Shallow as he left in third place
This left us with Chaz and Dave heads-up for the WPT title (but they don't get to keep the girls)
Chaz Chattha briefly took the chip lead during heads-up, but it was not to be as he lost it soon after
The final hand of WPT Ireland was a pure cooler when Chattha ran nines into queens
Shallow won €222,290 including a $25,000 WPT Championship seat Chattha took home €111,130 as a consolation prize for second place
