Even though WPT Enterprise currently struggles, a WPT title is still the most prestigious poker trophy after a WSOP bracelet. Tomorrow, the Main Event of the 'Legends of Poker' begins in the Bicycle Casino, Los Angeles.

The $10,000 Main Event will take place on six days. As usual, two starting days are planned. The kick-off is tomorrow at 2:15PM local time. The final table will be played on August 28th.

Nguyen Family successful in the Prelims

The 'Legends of Poker' 2008 have been going on for about three weeks now, over 20 events were played. Men 'The Master' Nguyen was again very successful. He won not one but two of the prelimis and was thus able to continue his this year's run.

Men Nguyen - very successful again in the prelimsIn a $300 No-Limit Hold'em event he prevailed over 251 further participants and received $65,700. Added to that was a first place in the $500 Omaha Hi/Lo event (121 participants) for $20,535. Thus Nguyen already booked six wins in bigger tournaments in 2008 – including a first place in the $2,500 Limit Hold'em tournament of the L.A. Poker Classic.

By the way: a WPT title is still missing in the collection of the six-time bracelet winner, even though he already cashed twelve times at the Tour. In January, Nguyen almost made it but he only finished third behind Hoyt Corkins and Brett Faustman.

Minh Nguyen, cousin of Men Nguyen, cashed twice. He didn't win an event, but he was able to call attention to himself with an 11th place in the $500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament and an 8th place in the $300 Omaha Hi/Lo event.

There was also a German cash in the preliminary tourneys. Gerhard Schiesser finished 14th in a $300 No-Limit Hold'em tournament and received $2,595.

Main Event 2007
