WPT London: Jake Cody Wins, fabstinho 7th

The World Poker Tour London event concluded recently with British pro Jake "neverbluff67" Cody taking down the £273,783 first place prize. PokerStrategists fabstinho earned £26,144 for finishing 7th.

Cody (pictured right) came into the final table as the 4th biggest chip stack but eventually triumphed after defeating Nichlas Mattsson heads-up. This win marks the second major title for Cody in 2010. In January this year, he picked up the win in EPT Deauville for €847,000.

The final hand of the tournament came when Nichlas Matsson raised from the button with AdQd, Cody made a 3-bet and Mattson moved all-in after tanking briefly. Cody snap called and flipped over QsQh. The board ran out 9h6d9s5h4d and it was all over.

First WPT final table for fabstinho

PokerStrategist Fabian " fabstinho" Quoss started his first ever WPT event final table in 2nd place. However, he could only manage what must be a dissappointing 7th place finish. He picked up £26,144 for his first WPT cash.

In what was reported to be one of the most exciting WPT final tables ever, early chip leader Giovanni Safina could only manage a 5th place finish to earn £42,322. Second placed Nichlas Mattsson won £176,979.
