The 41st World Series of Poker kicked off its Main Event on Monday, the 5th of July, when 1,125 players joined the tables at the Rio. With over 7,300 sign-ups, this is the second biggest Main Event ever, only behind the one played in 2006, when Jamie Gold won a massive prize of $12,000,000.

The first place prize for this year's Main Event is also going to be the second largest ever, surpasing Joe Cada's win in 2009 by almost half a million dollars. The final registration day is now closed, so let's see what kind of numbers we are dealing with this year.
