WSOP 2010: RobbieV Busts Phil Hellmuth

The $5,000 buy-in shootout event had far fewer players than the last two events Team PokerStrategy.com entered, but it saw a far stronger field. PokerStrategist Guennilicous meanwhile finished 72nd in Event #5.

Nazgul Event #6 was attended by a very tough field of 358 players. A total of 36 tables were opened up and almost every single one of them were filled with a mix of top online pros and established live players.

The four Team PokerStrategy.com members in Vegas all took part in this event. AdminAllanon had Gavin Smith and Chau Giang on his table, while AdminBongBob was seated with Steve "Gboro780" Gross.

AdminNazgul (pictured right) was with JC Tran, Pat Pezzin, and William Reynolds, while AdminRobbieV was seated with Phil Hellmuth and Noah Boeken on either side of him.

Besides them, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey, James Akenhead, Andy Bloch and Chris Ferguson were also all playing in this event.

Phil Hellmuth eliminated by RobbieV

In today's event, Phil Hellmuth sat down at AdminRobbieV's table after showing up more than an hour late. Hellmuth quite quickly lost a bunch of chips and it was AdminRobbieV who dealt the final blow when he flopped two pair with Hellmuth holding pocket aces. Surprisingly, there was no blow up.

AdminNazgul, who had one of the toughest tables, was the first to be eliminated. He was followed by AdminAllanon, who had a really quiet day, and AdminRobbieV not long after. AdminBongBob was again the last player standing, but lost a crucial pot against Steve Gross for more than half the chips in play. He couldn't recover after that, despite playing on for another five hours.

Last but not least, Guennilicous made it into the money in $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event. His 72nd place finish earned him $6,086.
