WSOP 2010 is Officially Second Biggest Main Event Ever
With 7,319 players signing up after the four starting days, this year's WSOP Main Event is second only to the one in 2006. PokerStrategists BongBob, fabstinho, MikaPaasonen and vipa were among the 2,391 who played on Day 1D.
The World Series of Poker proved today that the game of poker is well and truly alive, after the showcase event of the series attracted the most players since 2006. Despite the $10,000 price tag on each entry ticket, 7,319 dreamers still parted with their hard earn dollars to take a shot at fame and fortune.
After the four opening days, around 5,000 players are still in the running for a piece of the $68.8 million prize pool. The top 747 finishers will make the money, while only one winner will walk away with $8,944,138 first place prize, the second biggest in Main Event history.
