WSOP Event #32: Nazgul Makes His Way Through

The $2,000 No Limit Event welcomed more than 1,500 players. For once, the bubble didn't burst on the first day. And tomorrow, for Day 2, Nazgul will come back with a good stack and high expectations...

WSOP Event 32Team PokerStrategy.com members Daniel "Allanon85" Drescher, Tim "Nazgul" Kahlmeyer and Tobias "Pokernoob" Reinkemeier joined the likes of Mike Matusow, Chino Rheem, Hevad Khan, Ivan Demidov and many more pros in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em Event #32.

The tournament attracted a total of 1,534 players which generated a prize pool of $2,791,880. Only 171 players will end in the money, with the first place finisher receiving $530,548.

After 10 levels of play on Day 1, the field came down to just 220 players who will return for the second play day. Besides many notable names such as Scott Clements, Michael Binger and others, Nazgul will also be returning to his seat to hopefully fight his way through another day.
cold deck freezes allanon and pokernoob
AllanonBoth Allanon (pictured left) and Pokernoob were card-dead during the whole first levels and busted during the Day 1.

Allanon's table was quite tight and most of the hands were over before the flop. He commented during the first pause:

"It's a pretty tough table. Most of the players play their cards and do not have any lust for gamble. If I'm card-dead like this, it's going to be hard…"

On his left, Allanon had a Brazilian PokerStars pro and the rest of the players were unknown, but playing hard like rocks. Allanon almost always kept his starting stack, struggling with position steals, and sometimes having to fold with small pocket pairs when he was re-raised pre-flop.

When moved to Amazon Room after the first break, he was seated at an even harder table and had no spot to double up at any time. He busted after the dinner break in a classic coin flip.
Nazgul marches into second play day
Nazgul At Nazgul's table, the pace was completely different. Many good internet players entered the pots more often, and they were willing to gamble.

"This is a tough table, but I’m feeling good on it. I have lost classic coin flips, with pocket sevens losing to A-T, when an ace come on the flop, for example, but it's no problem, I succeed in having more than average by now," commented Nazgul (pictured right).

As the play progressed, Nazgul spent a lot of time observing his opponents and it paid off because his table did not break for the whole time, thus he could perfect his strategy.

Nazgul managed to build his stack up and when the last cards had been dealt, he was looking down at a stack of 43,200 in chips - most of it being acquired during the last hour of play.

Nazgul's table on Day 2 will be :

Seat 2: Simon Charette – 30000
Seat 3: Jack Powell – 51800
