The World Series of Poker Main Event was finished not long ago, and the ratings for the televised final table were significantly better than in 2007. Judging by the numbers, this means that the WSOP might continue delaying their Main Event Final Table.

WSOPThe November Nine managed to draw a lot of attention and ESPN confirmed this by announcing that the Tuesday night broadcast got a 1.9 rating, almost 50% more than 2007's 1.3 rating. This means that the final table had approximately 2.4 million viewers tuning in to see who will win the first prize of $9 million.

Overall, the 32 shows broadcast by ESPN got a 0.9 rating, which translates to over 1,100,000 people watching the series. Compared to last year, these numbers reflect an increase of approximately 15%.

Judging by these numbers, it appears that delaying the WSOP Final Table for almost 4 months was a wise decision and this might mean that the same can happen from now on.

Peter EastgateAnother issue revolving around the WSOP Main Event is the final table itself: it has been announced that the final table, where the 22-year old Peter Eastgate (pictured) won over $9 million, along with decks of cards, the dealer button and more will be put up for auction. This auction has already started and it will last until November 24.

"This is the first time that the public has had the opportunity to bid on authentic items from the World Series of Poker Main Event, and the centerpiece of the auction will be the Final Table itself. We have very passionate fans and we expect this auction to generate a lot of interest", said Ty Stewart, WSOP marketing director.
