The World Poker Tour stops in Venice for the second time in Season X, this time for a €4,500 + €450 Main Event dubbed the WPT Venice Grand Prix.

In addition to the Main Event, which runs from February 6 until February 10, we will see a €1,100 Pot Limit Omaha tournament and a €1,650 No Limit Hold'em "Mega Event".

You will be able to follow the action via the WPT live updates page.

WPT Venice, December 2011

The last time the World Poker Tour hosted a tournament in Venice was December 2011. Then, Eduardo Alescio overcame the final table, beating Steve O'Dwyer heads-up for the title.

Alescio, the self-confessed amateur of the final table, took home €175,000 after defeating a field of 213 players in the €3,000 event.

It's a kind of magic...

When you attend a World Poker Tour event, the welcome party for players is always a highlight. For the WPT Venice Grand Prix, those attending will be getting a special treat in the shape of "Magician Impossible" Dynamo.

On Tuesday, February 7, British magician Dynamo will be wowing guests at the WPT Players Party with never-before-seen illusions and amazing feats.

Carnival

Adding to the atmosphere of an already legendary European city and the excitement of a WPT event is the world-famous Venice Carnival, which is currently underway and runs throughout February. Running for the 40 days before Easter since the 1600s, the masquerade event promises food and fun.
