How does the Poker Hand Converter work?

How do I convert hand history data into a useable format?

To display a hand history as text, simply copy the hand to the large text field. Then click on the

Convert button.

The new hand history will appear on the right. You now have several options...

Create a forum-friendly text copy

You can convert the newly formatted hand history to text to submit a sample hand in a forum.

You have three formats to choose from:

  • PokerStrategy.com forum (BB format): This format is used in the PokerStrategy.com forums.
  • HTML format: You can use this format to publish a hand history on a website.
  • Text format: This format gives you the hand history in code-free text.

Select the text and click Ctrl+C, or click with the right mouse button and select copy.

How does the data bank work?

The name says it all. A data bank saves data, in this case poker hands. You can manage and access your hand histories from anywhere in the world.

How do I upload a hand?

Every converted hand is automatically saved in the database and appears in your overview.

You can generate a direct link to a saved hand history by selecting a hand and then clicking Create link from the dropdown menu. You can then copy the link from the text field.

Watch a video of a saved hand

If you want to review a hand in action, click View as video. A flash video will open in a new window.

How do I remove a saved hand?

Select the saved hands you want to remove by clicking on the box on the far left.

Then go to the dropdown menu Action for the marked hands and select Delete Hand.

The selected hands will now be removed from the overview. Note: they have not been completely deleted. Links to removed hands will still work, you simply won't see these hands in your overview.

How do I filter hand histories?

You can filter hand histories according to game type (FL/NL/PL).

You can also create a list of favourite saved hands. Start by clicking the box on the far left for the desired hand, then go to Actions for the marked hands menu and select Favourite. A star will appear behind the selected hand in your databank.

Select Favourite from the filter options to only display your favourite hands.

How do I submit a hand to have it analysed?

First, select the hand you wish to have analysed. You will see a text field on the lower right side of the page. This text is pre-formatted and ready for submission to the forum. Simply copy this text.

Once you've copied the text, open a new thread in the Sample Hand Forum. Be sure to include the limit and game type (SSS, BSS, short handed or full ring) and a short description in the title.

Example: NL10 FR Missed flush draw – Should I bluff on the river?

Paste the text and add any additional information relevant to the hand. You can also ask direct questions about the hand. Submit your entry and have a little patience. You will receive a reply from a PokerStrategy.com pro with a personal hand evaluation.
