In the lower part of the front page, you will find links which will help you with your first steps when using the PokerStrategy.com Elephant. On the right hand side, the Elephant keeps you up to date with the latest news from PokerStrategy.com

The filter navigation can be opened by clicking the Filter button. The filters which are set there affect all views. All active filters are shown in the lower right area of the software window. You can remove any filters set by you by pressing Delete.

Importing hands

To add the hand histories stored on your hard disk to the database, click on Hand Histories in the navigation. A dialogue box will open, in which you can include files and folders.

Importing from the clipboard is also possible. As soon as all desired files have been selected, you can start the process with a click on Start Import. The hands will be loaded into the database in two steps. After that, they are available for display on the tables or for the analysis of your own game.

The layout manager

In this view you can arrange the statistics. The grey box represents the player. Up to eight pieces of statistical data each can be displayed above and below the player.

To add an item, select it from the list and drag-drop into a field of your choice.

Font size and colour, as well as background colour can be set here. A click on "Test HUD" will show the test data on an opened poker table, even if you aren't sitting there. This way, you can immediately see whether you like the combination of font size and colour that you have selected.

Options

Click on the round Elepahnt icon in the top left-hand corner of the sofware window to access the various settings options. Here you can adjust the HUD settings as well as the Layout Manager, for which the display of stats can be modified.

Another important setting is Platforms. Here you can check if all the paths to hand history folders have been correctly specified and whether your own user names have been accurately identified.

Usually, it isn't necessary to change anything here. In case no statistics are displayed, however, you should check if the platform preferences are set correctly.

Hands display

In this view, every played hand is listed. It is possible to 'sort by columns' by clicking on the columns. Next to the timestamp of the played hand and your hole cards, you can also see how many $ or Big Blinds you earned with the hand.

In the "Category" column you can sort the hands in different categories, which you can also modify yourself via "Filter" → "Categories".

If you click on one hand from the list, the hand history will be displayed in the window to the right. It is possible to make notes at different points of the hand history. By clicking PS, you can copy the currently marked hand into the clipboard.

Now it's also possible to post the hand in the sample hands forum, in which you can simply open a new thread and paste the hand from the clipboard using the Ctrl+V shortcut.

The analysis view

Here you can find a detailed analysis of your game. The published screenshot shows the stats of our successful Fixed-Limit player Onkelhotte, filtered to display only hands on tables with exactly 6 players.

A summary of the statistics broken down into individual limits is shown in the lower half. The upper part displays the statistics regardless of the chosen limit.

If you click on a limit in the lower rows, the upper statistics are filtered to the chosen limit.
