This is a list of the best books for Limit Hold'em.
Book 1) is a book for everybody, also for people who never ever played poker before.
Book 2) and 3) are books you should read after you mastered the beginners section of PokerStrategy
Book 4), 5), 6), 7) and 8) should follow once you've reached the $1/$2 Limit and you are thinking about earning a regular income with poker.
Advice: In books 1 to 3 you should skip the preflop section!
1)
A solid book with all the basics. You will find a detailed Pre-Flop-, Flop-, Turn- and River strategy in this book. The starting hand chart in this book is not perfect so stick to the PokerStrategy Starting Hand Chart. In places the recommended tactics are a bit to weak. But all in all a very good beginners book.
2)
Very good book for beginners and intermediates. The material is explained very detailed and well structured. Some sample hands are not played perfectly. But in the end a very useful book
3)
The Hold'em bibel for intermediates. Excellent part of theory, explaining all the principals which are necessary to beat all limits including $3/$6. For beginners this book can be dangerous because the playing style described here is a little to aggressive and is often misunderstood.
4)
Excellent book for intermediates. This book has an analytical approach, that means, all strategies are explained by the use of mathematical analyses. The book includes great analyses about the topics semi-bluffing, value-betting and free-cards + a very good chapter about short-handed Hold'em.
5)
The must-have book for everybody who wants to go above the $2/$4 Limit. It goes especially into the details of the strength and weakness of your opponents. The book is written in a quiz format and consists of 25 sample hands, which are described and analyzed very detailed.
