A special move: Stealreraises
by PokerStrategy.com
1. Introduction
In the article about Blindsteals, you learned that once the Blinds have reached a certain level, you cannot wait for good cards. You'll take advantage of some situations and raise with some weaker hands as well.
The question is, once again: Can I make use of this? Answer: Of course! If your opponents raise with weaker hands as well, it is more likely that they're prepared to give up their hand if you move all-in. This is called a Stealreraise.
However, you only make use of this move in very special situations:
- Exactly one player raised.
- That player is the only player who has entered the hand.
As soon as another player raises again or enters the hand in some other way, the risk will get too high and you won't be able to profitably move all-in with, for example, a pair of eights. In this situation you'll just play as it is stated in the SHC, which you received in the Adjustments to your strategy when the Blinds increase article.
