Покер ботът (Pokerbot) е автономен софтуер, който играе покер. Симулираният играч се нарича покер бот или само бот. Програмата може да играе една или повече маси наведнъж и взема решения, базирани на зададени алгоритми.  <\/p>

Употреба<\/h2>

\nГлавното приложение на такъв софтуер е при тренировъчни програми и за онлайн игра, където ботът играе срещу хора. Повечето покер платформи и играчи смятат тази употреба за измама и вземат мерки за ограничаването й. Съществува сериозна група програмисти, работещи над такива ботове, най-вече поради научен и технически интерес. Те работят и по ботове за други игри, например табла и шах, съревновавайки програмите си срещу хора. Има и програмисти, чиято цел е да правят пари от ботовете. \n<\/p>

Тъй като е трудно да се говори за ботовете без специализирани познания, има известна доза спорове и \"легенди\" около състоянието им. Сигурно е, че има печеливши ботове на ниските лимити във fixed limit и no-limit Hold'em кеш игрите и турнирите. Това вероятно се получава поради факта, че играчите на тези нива не са особено добри. Програми, разработени в академичната сфера, като Vex Bot<\/a>, са на нивото на играчи на средните нива. <\/p>
