Jako kicker<\/a> označujeme ty karty, které nepoužijeme při sestavení finální handy, avšak rozhodují v případě rovnosti výherních kombinací. Z tohoto důvodu se kicker<\/a> objevuje pouze v handách, které nejsou složeny z pěti karet, tj. four of a kind<\/a>, three of a kind<\/a>, pairs a vysoké karty. Kicker<\/a> rozhoduje o výsledku v případě, že oba hráči drží stejně hodnocené výsledné handy a jednoduše vyšší kicker<\/a> vyhrává. V užší definici je pouze jeden kicker<\/a> a to ten, který rozhoduje o výhře v případě rovnosti síly hand<\/a>. Pokud hráči drží stejné karty, pak kicker<\/a> je nejvyšší ze společných karet, nepoužitých pro sestavení výherní kombinace a hráči tedy splitují pot<\/a>. <\/p>

Oba hráči mají v této handě pár králů a šestek. Kicker<\/a> hráče A je listové eso a kicker<\/a> hráče B je křížová dáma. Eso je vyšší než královna a proto říkáme, že hráč A má vyšší kicker<\/a>.<\/p>

V Texas Hold'em<\/a> říkáme kicker<\/a> také té kartě, která je nižší, než druhá rozdaná karta na začátku hry.<\/p>
