Shortstack<\/a> se používá jako označení pro takový stack<\/a>, který je malý v porovnání se stacky ostatních hráčů, s maximálním buy-inem, nebo aktuálním ante<\/a>. Jako shortstack<\/a> můžeme označit i hráče, který tímto stackem disponuje. Například hráč u stolu s maximálním buy-inem 100 big betů, který má pouze 20 big betů, můžeme označit jako shortstacka.<\/p>

Malý počet žetonů má i přímý vliv na hru. Shortstack<\/a> hráč nemůže podniknout komplexní ani nákladné kroky. Může také vyhrát pouze tolik, kolik žetonů obsahuje jeho stack<\/a>. Z tohoto důvodu nemůže hrát spekulativní handy, protože nemá dostatečné implied odds<\/a>.<\/p>

V turnaji je shortstack<\/a> pod tlakem zdvojnásobit, nebo lépe ztrojnásobit jeho stack<\/a> tak rychle, jak jen to je možné. Nemůže čekat moc dlouho na dobré handy, protože velikost jeho stacku dramaticky zmenšují ante<\/a>. <\/p>
