Daniel Negreanu to make Hustler Casino Live debut
Daniel Negreanu is set to take on players at the Hustler felt for the first time.
The eight-time WSOP Bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu will swap tournament tactics for cash game drama for the first time in two years as he joins the cast of Hustler Casino Live later this month. The Canadian Poker Hall of Famer, who has focused on tournaments for many years, will step back into the cash game arena on August 28th in Los Angeles, making his Hustler Casino Live debut on the iconic set in a $100/$200 cash game.
In an announcement on X, Hustler Casino Live (HCL) confirmed that the 2026 $100,000 PLO High Roller bracelet winner will be swapping tournament tables for a seat inside the L.A. studio's legendary live-streamed cash game.
The video announcement, which was generated by AI, featured HCL players singing as part of a gospel choir celebrating the arrival of 'Big D Energy' in the HCL game, which prompted the Canadian to share the footage, saying that the video was "so ridiculous" he felt compelled to amplify it.
The game, which currently only has Negreanu attached to it, has blinds of $100/$200 and will have a $50,000 minimum buy-in. Players will likely be clamouring to grab a seat for the exposure alone, with the Negreanu HCL stream tipped to be the biggest live-streamed cash game on the channel in its history.
While almost exclusively a tournament player, the Vegas-based Negreanu will swap Sin City for the City of Angels on August 28th in his first cash game in two years since mixing it up in No Gamble, No Future on PokerGO, where he dropped an $83,600 pot after running ace-queen twice against Phil Hellmuth's pocket aces. There is no news yet as to whether The Poker Brat can be persuaded to take on Kid Poker in the HCL game.

Airball already questions Negreanu game buy-in

Negreanu, who will become a parent with wife Amanda at the end of 2026, will wrap up his poker travels this year at the WSOP Paradise festival in the Bahamas. He has found time to fit in the HCL game, however, and after the controversy of Nick Vertucci's exit from the brand, the inclusion of their Global Ambassador on HCL only shows how GGPoker's part-purchase of HCL has brought several benefits with it.
One player who is suspected to want a seat at the table is Nik Airball, also known as Nikhil Arcot. Back in February, Arcot suggested that "tourney players all suck, this is free money if I ever seen it!" before he took on the six-time WSOP bracelet winner Kristen Foxen at the felt. Foxen, of course, took home $17,100 in profit while Arcot lost $399,900 over another humbling session. If he fancies taking on Negreanu, the stakes could get even higher, and 'Airball' has already stoked the fires, stating: "100k minimum [buy-in] seems more appropriate for the legend!"
With the other players set to be confirmed in the coming days, we won't have long to wait to find out exactly who takes on Kid Poker at the HCL felt. In the meantime, poker fans will recall just how thrilling one of the best cash game hands of all-time was featuring Negreanu, as Gus Hansen hit quads in a legendary episode of High Stakes Poker back in the day.
