Der Titel des PokerStars.com APPT Sydney Main Events bleibt in einheimischen Händen. Mit Karamalikis gewinnt bereits der vierte Australier, von denen allein fünf unter den neun Finalisten waren, in Folge dieses Event.<\/p>

Zu Beginn des Final Tables hielt noch der Engländer Roland De Wolfe den Chiplead, musste aber schon auf Platz 8 das Turnier aufgeben und bekam dafür AU$50.285. Neunter wurde der kanadische Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, der AU$36.415 gewann, während der Franzose Antoine Amourette für seinen fünften Platz AU$97.970 erhielt.<\/p>

Australisches Duell um den Titel<\/h2>

Die beiden Australier Karamalikis und McLean spielten knapp eineinhalb Stunden das abschließende Heads-up, in das McLean mit einem knappen 5:4-Vorsprung gegangen war. Zwar gingen beide Spieler eher abwartend in dieses Duell, nach und nach konnte Karamalikis aber den Stack seines Gegners immer weiter verkleinern.<\/p>

In der vorletzten Hand callte Karamalikis auf dem Flop \"9s\"\"3d\"\"7s\" eine Continuation Bet von McLean, der vor dem Flop schon ge-3-bettet hatte. Das \"As\" auf dem Turn gab Karamalikis mit \"Ks\"\"Ts\" die Nuts und so bettete er nach einem Check von McLean 400.000 in einen Pot von ungefähr 1 Million.<\/p>

McLean schien sich nicht so ganz sicher zu sein, callte aber dennoch mit \"Ad\"\"Kd\". Auf dem River checkte McLean den \"Jh\" erneut, worauf Karamalikis 1 Million setze. Nach einiger Überlegung callte McLean die Bet und bescherte Karamalikis so einen Vorsprung von rund 7,6 Millionen zu 946.000 Chips. In der letzten Hand kam es dann zu einem Coinflip mit \"5d\"\"5c\" von Karamalikis gegen \"Ad\"\"6d\" von McLean. Die Fünfer hielten bis zum Ende und das Turnier war entschieden.<\/p>

Negreanu und De Wolfe früh ausgeschieden<\/h2>

Für Roland DeWolfe lief es am Final Table gar nicht gut. So verlor er schon relativ früh fast seinen halben Stack mit Assen gegen ein geturntes Set von Antoine Amourette. Danach konnte er immerhin Daniel Negreanu vom Tisch nehmen, als er am Flop ein Set gegen Negreanus Top Pair durchbrachte. Der kanadische Pro beendete sein erstes APPT-Event somit auf dem neunten Platz.<\/p>

Auf dem \"7d\"\"Jc\"\"2s\"\"Kh\" Board foldete De Wolfe dann gegen einen Checkraise all-in von Amourette, nachdem dieser preflop einen Raise gecallt und am Flop Check\/Call gespielt hatte. Mit nur noch 15 Big Blinds schied De Wolfe zehn Minuten später aus, als er mit \"As\"\"9d\" gegen Karamalikis \"Ad\"\"Qs\" all-in ging. Karamalikis traf auf dem Flop seine Queen und der vorher so gut dastehende De Wolfe war ausgeschieden.<\/p>
