Jonathan Duhamel setzte sich 2010 beim WSOP Main Event gegen 7.319 Spieler durch und kassierte dafür $8.944.310 Preisgeld.<\/p>

Wie seine WSOP-Champion-Vorgänger Joe Cada (2009) und Peter Eastgate (2008) wurde er schon während des Main Events von PokerStars<\/a> gesponsert. Nach dem Triumph war es also nur noch eine Frage der Zeit, bis der 23-Jährige auch offiziell zum Team PokerStars Pro gehört.<\/p>

Der erste Kanadier, der ein WSOP Main Event gewinnen konnte, wird somit in der Zukunft unter der Flagge von PokerStars an großen Turnieren teilnehmen und versuchen, seine Erfolge weiter auszubauen.<\/p>

\"Ich möchte die größten Turnieren der Welt spielen\", sagt Duhamel. \"Ich werde alles dafür tun, um künftig ein weiteres Topresultat zu erzielen.\"<\/p>

Duhamels Werdegang<\/h2>

Duhamel finanziert sich seinen Lebensunterhalt durch Cash-Games im Internet. Zum ersten Mal auf dem Turnierschirm tauchte er bei der EPT Prague 2008 auf, als er den 10. Platz belegte.<\/p>

Nachdem es einige Zeit ruhig um ihn war, gelang ihm bei der WSOP 2010 der große Durchbruch. Er cashte in einem $1.500 No Limit Hold'em Six-Handed Turnier und kam dann unter die Top 15 in einem $2.500 No Limit Hold'em Event. Dafür bekam er insgesamt ein Preisgeld in Höhe von $43.000. Anschließend sicherte er sich beim Main Event den ersten Platz und bekam nicht nur das Bracelect, sondern auch knapp $9 Millionen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
