Beobachter des Events waren etwas überrascht, dass der allseits bekannte US-Pro Phil Ivey auch die letzte Möglichkeit nicht nutzte, sich in das Turnier einzukaufen. Die 45 verbliebenen Teilnehmer, die am Ende von Tag 3 noch einen Stack ihr Eigen nennen konnten, dürfte das Fehlen von Ivey hingegen erleichtert haben.<\/p>

Die Enttäuschung bei den Fans des achtmaligen Bracelet-Siegers dürfte sich jedoch in Grenzen halten: Man erwartet, dass Phil Ivey am morgigen Tag beim Super High Roller-Event an den Start gehen wird.<\/p>

Was passierte an Tag 3?<\/h2>

Die Führenden<\/span><\/strong>: Mehrere bekannte Spieler hatten sich am Ende von Tag 3 in der Spitze des Chipcounts platziert, darunter unter anderem Guillaume Darcourt und Rinat Bogdanov. Auch Antonio Esfandiari und Nick Schulman sicherten sich einen Platz in den Top 5. PokerStrategy.com-Coach <\/span>\"\"JonathanLittle<\/a> <\/b>konnte seinen soliden Stack ebenfalls behaupten und kratzt nach wie vor an den Top 10, dicht gefolgt vom deutschen Pro Marvin Rettenmaier, der sich am Ende des Tages auf Platz 13 wiederfand.

Den vorzeitigen Platz an der Sonne konnte der US-Pro Curt Kohlberg erobern, nachdem er mehrere Spieler im Verlauf des Tages an die Rails schickte und damit seinen Stack nach und nach vergrößerte.<\/span>
<\/b>
<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/strong>Insgesamt 152 Teilnehmer: <\/span><\/strong>Nachdem die Möglichkeit zur Late Registration nun vorüber ist, steht die offizielle Teilnehmerzahl der WPT World Championship fest. Insgesamt 152 Spieler haben sich in das Event eingekauft, der Gesamtpreispool liegt somit bei $3.660.500. 18 Spieler werden es ins Geld schaffen. Den Sieger erwarten $1.196.858. Ein überraschend kleiner Betrag für die WPT World Championship. 2006 erhielt der damalige Sieger Carlos Mortensen noch stolze $3.970.415.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

WPT Player of the Year-Race noch offen: <\/font><\/strong><\/strong> <\/font><\/strong><\/span>Es mag vielleicht das letzte Event der Saison sein, das Rennen um den WPT Player of the Year-Award ist allerdings noch offen. Der momentan Führende des Leaderboards Will Failla schied an Tag 3 aus, unter den verbliebenen Teilnehmern befinden sich jedoch noch einige Spieler, die das Rennen noch gewinnen könnten. So würde zum Beispiel Joe Serock ein 15. Platz reichen, um sich an die Spitze des Leaderboards zu setzen. Dan Buzgon könnte sich unter Umständen mit Platz 12 zum Spieler der Saison krönen.<\/p>
