Wenn mir Rob Yong sagen würde, dass es den Weihnachtsmann tatsächlich gibt, wäre ich mittlerweile fast bereit, daran zu glauben.<\/p>

Ihr fragt euch warum? In dieser Woche überraschte das Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) die Pokerwelt<\/a> mit dem Einstieg bei der International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT).<\/p>

Mit der Ankündigung, dem Gewinner ein Preisgeld von €1 Million zu garantieren, hat Rob Yong als Eigentümer des DTD ein Event wieder ins Rampenlicht gebracht, an dem das Interesse bisher nicht nur recht gering war, sondern dem auch große Abneigung entgegen gebracht wurde.<\/p>

Auch ich selbst stand der ISPT sehr kritisch gegenüber<\/a> und sehe keine Anlass dazu, meine Kritik zu revidieren. Die Veranstalter haben einfach in der Vorbereitung des Events jeden Fehler gemacht, den man machen kann.<\/p>

Mit einem einzigen Streich hat das DTD nun aber die Erfolgsaussichten dieses Events schlagartig erhöht. Sollte das Turnier tatsächlich zu einem Erfolg werden, dann liegt das einzig und allein am DTD.<\/p>

Für alle Kontinentaleuropäer hier eine kurze Erklärung zum DTD:<\/p>

Das DTD ist der beste Pokerclub der Welt und hat in den letzten fünf Jahren mehr für die Verbreitung von Poker in Großbritannien getan als jedes andere Unternehmen. Außerdem halten sie in Sachen garantierter Preispools immer ihre Versprechen.<\/p>

Mit ihren großen Turnieren und ebenso großen garantierten Preispools haben die Macher hinter dem DTD die Latte für Live-Turniere in Großbritannien sehr hoch gelegt. Mehrere Male wurden britische und gesamteuropäische Rekorde für die größten Pokerturniere gebrochen und mindestens genauso oft hat es nicht ganz gereicht und die Veranstalter mussten große Overlays bezahlen.
 
In der Pokercommunity stellen sich nun viele die Frage, ob das DTD das Event retten kann. Für mich ist jedenfalls jetzt schon klar, dass es ein Geniestreich vom DTD war, sich dieser Herausforderung zu stellen.<\/p>

Das DTD hat zwar den britischen Pokermarkt ohne jeden Zweifel fest im Griff, es aber bisher noch nicht zu einer weltweit bekannten Marke geschafft. Trotzdem haben sie in diesem Jahr schon die Landesgrenzen hinter sich gelassen und ein hoch gelobtes Event in der Karibik<\/a> veranstaltet. Wie es scheint, war das aber nur der Anfang einer kommenden Expansion.<\/p>

Der Einstieg des DTD bei der ISPT wird eine von drei denkbaren Auswirkungen haben:<\/p>

1. Das Event wird ein großer Erfolg und das DTD mit Rob Yong zu einem der einflussreichsten Player in der Pokerwelt.<\/p>

2. Das Event wird ein bescheidener Erfolg und das DTD muss ein kleines Overlay ausgleichen, wird aber dafür gelobt, es fast<\/em> geschafft zu haben. Das DTD und Rob Yong werden zu wichtigen Playern in der Pokerwelt.<\/p>

3. Das Event scheitert grandios und das DTD muss für ein großes Overlay aufkommen. Das DTD und Rob Yong werden für den Versuch <\/em>der Rettung noch beliebter und das DTD als Marke zumindest international bekannt.<\/p>

Stellt sich da noch die Frage, ob das Event gelingen kann? Meiner Meinung nach spielt das kaum eine Rolle. Unabhängig vom Ausgang wird das DTD einen gelungenen ersten Schritt in seiner globalen Expansion machen. Das DTD gleicht durch seinen guten Ruf die enorme negative Publicity der ISPT aus und versucht, daraus etwas Positives zu machen.<\/p>

In zwei Jahren könnte das DTD mit Events in aller Welt zu einem ernstzunehmenden Konkurrenten der EPT, WPT und WSOP geworden sein. Jeder wird bei den Events dieser genialen Veranstalter dabei sein wollen, die die ISPT gerettet und die garantierten Preisgelder ausbezahlt haben.<\/p>

All das ist wahrscheinlich mehr wert, als die Million Euro, die sie im Wembley-Stadion vielleicht ausgeben müssen.<\/p>

Wird der garantierte Preispool von den Buy-ins gedeckt werden können? Wahrscheinlich ist es dazu schon ein bisschen zu spät, aber man könnte dem ganzen doch recht nahe kommen.<\/p>

Wenn man das Event noch einmal komplett von vorne planen könnte, wäre das DTD einer von zwei Veranstaltern in Großbritannien, die das ursprüngliche Konzept erfolgreich umsetzen könnten - der andere wäre natürlich PokerStars.<\/p>

An das Konzept der ISPT glaube ich immer noch nicht so ganz, genauso wenig daran, dass es zu einem großen kommerziellen Erfolg werden kann. Allerdings glaube ich an das DTD und an Rob Yong. Und wenn er mir sagen würde, dass es ihn wirklich gibt, glaube ich auch an den Weihnachtsmann.<\/p>
