Nach dem enttäuschenden Main Event der Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open<\/em> in diesem Jahr, macht das Gerücht die Runde, dass Ray Stefanelli von seinem Posten als \"Director of Poker Marketing\" zurücktreten wird.<\/p>

Im Jahre 2013 machte das Event aus guten Gründen hervorragende Schlagzeilen, als es erstmals ein Turnier ins Leben rief, das einen Preispool von mindestens $10 Millionen garantierte. Damit lockte es unfassbare 2.384 Spieler nach Florida und tatsächlich entstand im Endeffekt ein Preispool von fast $12 Millionen.<\/p>

Dieses Jahr allerdings meldeten sich nur 1.499 Spieler an, die das Buy-in von $5.300 aufbrachten und so blieben die Gastgeber auf der Rechnung von einem gigantischen $2,5-Millionen-Overlay<\/a> sitzen - der wohl größte Flop in der Geschichte des Turnierpokers. Dan Colman hat das Beste aus dem Event gemacht <\/a>und sich den Hauptpreis in Höhe von $1,4 Millionen geschnappt.<\/p>

Stefanelli hatte dem Borgata dabei geholfen, seinen Pokerbereich als einen der besten der USA zu etablieren, bevor er letztes Jahr zu Seminole Gaming ging. Möglicherweise verschlägt es ihn nun zurück nach Atlantic City, wo die aussichtsreiche Entwicklung des Poker-Business ihm eine gute Gelegenheit bieten könnte, sich von seinen kürzlichen Erfahrungen zu erholen.<\/p>

In der Poker-Community wird vermutet, dass die Gefahr einer Überschneidung mit der EPT Barcelona Ende August zu massivem Nachholbedarf an Turnieren in den USA geführt hat.<\/p>

Die WPT Legends of Poker<\/em> in Kalifornien, die WinStar River Poker Series<\/em> in Oklahoma, die Colorado Poker Championship<\/em>, das Labour Day Deepstack<\/em> in Ohio, die Poker Open Summer Series<\/em> in Pittsburgh und das Playground Poker Festival<\/em> in Montreal - alle lagen in diesem Jahr zeitlich um die SHRPO herum, was einen Einfluss auf die Teilnehmeranzahl gehabt haben könnte.<\/p>

Zusätzlich hat Benton Blakeman, ein amerikanischer Grinder und Event-Teilnehmer, bemerkt, dass Seminole einen wesentlich lockereren Satellite-Zeitplan hatte als im Jahre 2013. Laut Blakeman versuchten es viele Spieler in diesem Jahr nur einmal, sich über ein Satellite zu qualifizieren, während sie es im letzten Jahr drei-, vier-, fünf- oder sogar sechsmal versuchten.<\/p>
