Vor einigen Wochen ist die Partnerschaft von PokerStars mit Cristiano Ronaldo und Neymar<\/a> beendet worden. Es war die bisher teuerste Marketingkampagne des weltweit größten Pokeranbieters. Ich hatte erwartet, dass man damit die Kooperation mit weltweit bekannten Stars grundsätzlich einstellen würde.<\/p>

Und habe mich getäuscht. Neben einer Reihe bekannter Gesichter zum Promoten der eigenen Sportwettensparte, gab man vor Kurzem auch die Partnerschaft mit Kevin Hart<\/a> bekannt, dem aktuell bestbezahlten Comedian der Welt.<\/p>

Die Frage ist nun, ob der US-Comedian sogar ein breiteres Publikum für das Spiel begeistern kann als die Elitestars des Sports?<\/p>

Die unterhaltsame Seite des Spiels<\/h2>

Eine Sache direkt vorweg: Ich bin auf jeden Fall voreingenommen, da ich ein großer Fan von amerikanischer Stand-up-Comedy bin. Ich liebe die Stars wie Dave Chappelle, Louis CK, Bill Burr und Chris Rock – und denke auch, dass Kevin Hart einer der unterhaltsamsten ist. Unabhängig davon, ob er nun also gut oder schlecht für das Spiel ist, bin ich froh, dass das Engagement zustande kam.<\/p>

Der vielleicht interessanteste Aspekt von Harts Zusammenarbeit mit PokerStars ist seine Nationalität. Natürlich ist er mittlerweile weltweit bekannt und kann auch Stadien außerhalb der USA füllen, dennoch kann man sich einem kleinen Funken Hoffnung nicht verwehren, dass das Engagement bedeutet, dass PokerStars plant, im großen Stil in den US-Markt zurückzukehren – auch wenn man das sicherlich schon seit einer ganzen Weile tut.<\/p>

Wie im Falle von Ronaldo und insbesondere Neymar ist Kevin Hart ein riesiger Pokerfan<\/strong>, was wohl auch einer der entscheidenden Punkt bei der Auswahl des neuen Markenbotschafters gewesen sein durfte. Er tritt bei Super-High-Roller-Turnieren an<\/a> und lässt sich auch ein Cashgame von Dan Bilzerian nicht entgehen. Seine natürliche Begeisterung für das Spiel lässt sich einfach verkaufen und verleiht dem Engagement Legitimität.<\/p>

Ein echter Gamechanger?<\/h2>

Auf den ersten Blick wirken Sportstars wie Ronaldo aber passender, wenn es ums Promoten von Poker geht.<\/strong> Schon seit einem Jahrzehnt versucht man, das Spiel als Sport zu verkaufen. Wenn einer der weltweit erfolgreichsten Athleten Poker in genau dieses Licht rückt, ist das ein sehr deutliches Signal nach außen. Zudem kann die Verknüpfung von Sportwetten und Poker auch in diesem Bereich nur hilfreich sein. Abschließend handelt es sich bei der Kern-Fangruppe von Spielern wie Ronaldo auch um genau die demographische Gruppe, die man seitens der Pokerindustrie beim Marketing vor allem ansprechen will.<\/p>

Hart vertritt hingegen die unterhaltsame Seite des Spiels.<\/strong> Er ist kein Starathlet, der sich im Wettkampf mit anderen durchsetzt. Er ist der lustige Typ bei der eigenen Homegame-Runde. Statt das Spiel so zu verkaufen, als ob es nur ums Gewinnen geht, könnte Hart die Unterhaltung mehr in den Mittelpunkt rücken. Das ist die Richtung, in der sich die Industrie grundsätzlich entwickelt, und ich denke, dass der neue Markenbotschafter genau hier seinen Zweck erfüllen soll. Auf jeden Fall wird es spaßig, wenn man ihm beim Spielen zuschauen kann.<\/p>

Mein Bauchgefühl sagt mir, dass das Image eines Eliteathleten wie Ronaldo besser zu Poker passt. PokerStars hat den Deal mit ihm jedoch nicht erneuert, sodass ich mich durchaus täuschen kann. Alles in allem denke ich, dass Kevin Hart ein toller Botschafter für das Spiel sein wird. Es gibt keine Zweifel, dass Poker unterhaltsamer sein wird, wenn er mit von der Partie ist. Wie das Ganze nun also auch ausgeht, bin ich dankbar, dass PokerStars versucht in diesem Bereich neue Wege zu gehen.<\/p>

Und sollte der US-Comedian tatsächlich mal ein großes Super High Roller gewinnen, könnte das Engagement sogar ein echter Gamechanger werden.<\/p>
