Gemaco ist fein raus<\/h2>\n

Die Edgesorting-Saga von Phil Ivey hat in der Vorwoche eine merkwürdige Wendung genommen, als der Kartenhersteller Gemaco eine Strafe von nur $26,80 für seine Rolle in dem Fall zahlen musste.<\/p>\n

Gemaco war Teil der ursprünglichen Anklage und Forderung von $10 Millionen des Borgata Casino gegenüber Phil Ivey, da die gelieferten Karten defekt genug waren, dass seine Partnerin Cheung Yin Sun auf ihrer Rückseite winzige Ungleichheiten entdecken konnte.<\/p>\n

Nun wurden jedoch vor Gericht fünf der insgesamt sechs Anklagepunkte gegen Gemaco aufgehoben, sodass nur noch die Gebühr für das Ersetzen der Karten zu Buche fiel.<\/p>\n

Der bekannte spanische Schach-Großmeister Francisco Vallejo Pons hat seine Frustration mit der Steuerbehörde seines Landes geteilt, die ihm einen Ausflug an die Pokertische vor einigen Jahren in Rechnung gestellt hat.<\/p>\n

2011 hatte er gepokert und dabei in kleinem Rahmen verloren, das jedoch in einem Zeitraum, als in Spanien Pokerspieler für ihre Gewinne besteuert wurden, ohne dass zuvor eventuelle Verluste abgezogen wurden.<\/p>\n

So kam Pons aus Sicht des spanischen Fiskus auf einen Gewinn von €1 Million, obwohl er etwas mehr als dieselbe Summe an den Tischen auch abgeben musste. Am Ende stand er somit mit einem kleinen Gesamtverlust da, 2016 bekam er dafür jedoch eine Steuerrechnung von 47% in Höhe von €500.000.<\/p>\n

In einem langen Facebook-Beitrag<\/a> hat er seinem Ärger darüber nun Luft gemacht: \"Mehr als eine halbe Million, weil ich gepokert und verloren habe. Das scheint wie ein makabrer Scherz, ist es aber nicht. Es wird zu einem Schneeball, der dich am Ende erdrückt.\"<\/p>\n\n
