Von den vielen neuen Formaten, die PokerStars in den letzten zwei Jahren gelauncht hat, war Power Up<\/a> das wohl ambitionierteste und vom Umfang einzigartigste.<\/p>

Das scheint allerdings nicht gereicht zu haben, um die Massen zu begeistern, nachdem nun von pokerfuse enthüllt<\/a> wurde, dass PokerStars das Format aus der Lobby entfernen wird. Der Schritt wurde bereits offiziell bestätigt, wann genau blieb dabei aber offen.<\/p>

Präsentation und Ablauf der SNG-Partien für drei Spieler orientieren sich an bekannten Videospielen, sodass im Grunde ein Hybrid aus Poker und Tradingcardspielen wie Magic: The Gathering und Hearthstone<\/strong> geboten wird. Das Ziel dabei ist, wie üblich eine normale Pokerhand zu gewinnen, im Verlauf der Partien kommen jedoch Powerkarten hinzu, die eine Hand auf den Kopf stellen können, wie zum Beispiel der Austausch der eigenen Holecards.<\/p>

Zu kompliziert für neue Spieler?<\/h2>

Dadurch entstand ein sehr dynamisches Format mit zahlreichen möglichen Wendungen. Aufgrund der Komplexität der Powerkarten war eine komplette strategische Lösung des Spiels im Grunde unmöglich. Wie zuvor vermutet<\/a>, scheinen die Partien vielleicht aber doch etwas zu komplex für neue Spieler ausgefallen zu sein, sodass ambitionierte und erfahrene Pokerspieler nach wie vor die größte Edge dabei genießen konnten.<\/p>

Das Experiment kann für PokerStars durchaus kostspielig gewesen sein, da jede Menge Programmierarbeit in die Entwicklung geflossen sein dürfte. Zudem deutet die prominente Platzierung in der Lobby samt eigenem Tab darauf hin, dass man viel Hoffnung hatte, dass das Format tatsächlich ein Hit wird und eine Brücke zwischen Poker und dem e-Sports-begeisterten Publikum bei Twitch schlagen kann.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
