The Baccarat Machine<\/strong> lautet der Titel des Films, in dessen Zentrum Iveys \"Komplizin\" im berüchtigten Edge-Sorting-Fall Cheung Yin Sun steht, die sich das Aufspüren von minimalen Mängeln auf der Rückseite von Baccarat-Karten antrainiert hatte.<\/p>

Die US-Schauspielerin mit asiatischen Wurzeln Nora \"Akkwafina\" Lum<\/strong>, bekannt aus Serien wie Crazy Rich Asians, soll dabei laut dem Magazin Collider<\/a> die Hauptrolle übernehmen. Wer in die Rolle von Phil Ivey schlüpfen wird und ob seine Person überhaupt einen wesentlichen Teil des Films ausmachen wird, ist bisher nicht bekannt.<\/p>

Der Film basiert auf einer Kurzbiografie zu Kelly Sun<\/a>, die von Michael Kaplan im Magazin Cigar Aficiando<\/em> veröffentlicht wurde. Ihre Geschichte wird beschrieben als die einer \"jungen chinesischen Frau, die ein mühselig erarbeitetes Talent und einen besessenen Drang nach Vergeltung in einen Plan verwandelt, um das System bei seinem eigenen Spiel zu schlagen. Während die großen Casinoketten der Welt gemeinsame Sache machen und sie von ihren Tischen fernhalten wollen, geht Sun eine Partnerschaft mit dem internationalen 'King of Poker' Phil Ivey ein, um das System durch Täuschung, Genialität und schlichtem Wagemut zu Fall zu bringen, was den wohl ausgeklügeltsten Erfolgslauf beim Glücksspiel zur Folge hat, der je dokumentiert wurde.\"<\/em><\/p>

Ivey und Sun hatten mithilfe der Edge-Sorting-Technik einen Betrag von etlichen Millionen Dollar im Borgata in Atlantic City und dem Crockfords in London gewonnen. Das Crockfords hat Iveys Gewinn dabei einbehalten, während das Borgata ihn auf Zahlung von mehr als $10 Millionen verklagt hat. Bis zum heutigen Tag befindet sich Ivey in einem erbitterten Rechtsstreit mit den beiden Casinos.<\/p>
