Die Action bei WSOP.com in der vergangenen Nacht<\/figcaption><\/figure>

Vergangene Nacht haben sich 705 Spieler in Nevada und New Jersey bei WSOP.com für das ungewöhnlichste $10.000 WSOP Main Event angemeldet, das die Welt bisher gesehen hat.<\/p>

Im Gegensatz zum Turnier für die internationale Spielerschaft bei GGPoker in der vergangenen Woche gab es nur einen Starttag bei der US-Ausgabe. Im Vorfeld hatte man damit gerechnet, dass die Teilnehmerzahl noch kleiner als beim Turnier von GGPoker ausfallen würde, das war jedoch nicht der Fall, nachdem dort lediglich insgesamt 674 Spieler<\/a> zusammenkamen.<\/p>

Der Grund ist offensichtlich: Spieler, die sich bereits in Nevada aufhalten, werden einen eventuellen Final Table dort deutlich problemloser in Angriff nehmen können als die internationale Spielerschaft, die es trotz umfangreicher Reisebeschränkungen aus allen Ecken der Welt ins tschechische Rozvadov schaffen muss.<\/p>

Am Ende hat die Corona-Pandemie beim Hybrid-Event, das die WSOP unbedingt noch vor Jahresende über die Bühne bringen wollte, für das mit Abstand kleinste Main-Event-Teilnehmerfeld der Nachboom-Ära<\/strong> gesorgt. Es sind zwar noch mehr Spieler als 839 im Jahr 2003 zusammengekommen, als Chris Moneymaker mit seinem Bilderbuch-Triumph den Boom entfachte, aber deutlich weniger als 2.576 im Jahr 2004, die direkt im Folgejahr versuchten in die Fußstapfen von Moneymaker zu treten.<\/p>

Die US-Ausgabe hat nun einen Preispool von $6.768.000 und ähnliche Payouts wie die internationale Ausgabe, bei der ebenfalls zwei Millionäre gekürt werden:<\/p>

In den USA verbleiben nun noch 71 Spieler im Turnier, die allesamt bereits das Geld erreicht haben, darunter unter anderem bekannte Namen wie Galen Hall, Mohsin Charania, Jason Somerville, Darren Elias, Nick Schulman, Ryan Laplante, Maria Ho und Ryan Riess.<\/p>

Im Laufe der heutigen Nacht wird der Final Table ausgespielt, bevor man sich am 28. Dezember im Rio in Las Vegas von Angesicht zu Angesicht treffen will. Bereits morgen steht derweil der Final Table im King's Casino in Rozvadov an. Der Gewinner des Turniers soll dann noch am 30.
