Wer sich auf der Suche nach Argumenten befindet, dass Online-Poker nicht tot ist, muss eigentlich nur einen Blick auf die gestern gestartete Jubiläumsausgabe der Sunday Million werfen, bei der bisher 65.155 Teilnehmer ihren Hut in den Ring geworfen haben. Aber auch an anderer Stelle zeigt sich, dass das virtuelle Kartenspiel weiterhin gedeiht und blüht:<\/p>

Der Domainname poker.net wurde in diesem Monat für $750.000 verkauft<\/a>. Gesichert hat sich die Rechte dabei die Firma ADX Labs, ein Technologie-Unternehmen aus dem US-Bundesstaat Minnesota.<\/p>

Die Summe sorgt dabei nicht nur mit Blick auf Poker für Aufsehen, es ist auch die bisher größte Summe, die je für eine .net-Domain gezahlt wurde. Der bisherige Rekord lag bei $500.000 für mobile.net im Jahr 2014.<\/p>

Der Kaufpreis deutet darauf hin, dass Poker nach wie vor als Wachstumsmarkt gesehen wird, zumindest in den Vereinigten Staaten.<\/p>

Vom Rekordpreis, der je für eine Domain mit Bezug zu Poker aufgerufen wurde, ist man derweil ein gutes Stück weit entfernt: 2017 begab sich der Eigentümer der Domain poker.com auf die Suche nach Angeboten in Höhe von rund $20 Millionen<\/strong>. Es scheint nicht, dass ein solcher Verkauf zustande kam. Stattdessen ruht die Domain seit Jahren und befindet sich aktuell im Besitz einer Privatperson aus Milton Keys in Großbritannien.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
