Zu Beginn der vergangenen Woche gab es noch reichlich Gegenwind für Phil Hellmuth, nachdem am Final Table der Seven Card Stud Championship einmal mehr die Gäule mit ihm durchgingen<\/a>. Beendet hat er die Woche dann aber doch mit dem 16. WSOP-Bracelet seiner wohl einmaligen Karriere.<\/p>

Vergangene Nacht erreichte er bereits den vierten Final Table bei der WSOP 2021 und dieses Mal ließ er sich den Sieg beim $1.500 No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw<\/strong> nicht nehmen. 272 Spieler hatten das Nachsehen, was am Ende einen Hauptpreis von $84.851 bedeutete.<\/p>

Hellmuth führt mit seinen nun 16 Bracelets das Ranking der WSOP-Geschichte mit einem Vorsprung von sechs Armbändern an (Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan und Doyle Brunson haben jeweils 10), nachdem er erstmals 1989 eine der prestigeträchtigen Siegertrophäen ergattern konnte. Insgesamt kann er bei der WSOP auf sage und schreibe 156 Preisgelder, 70 Final Table, $15.294.312 in Turniergewinnen<\/strong> zurückblicken und Turniersiege beim No Limit Hold'em, Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Hold'em, Razz und No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw verbuchen.<\/p>

Darüber hinaus dürfte sich Hellmuths Augenmerk auch auf eine weitere Auszeichnung richten richten: Dank seines jüngsten Erfolgs liegt Hellmuth dem aktuell Führenden im Rennen um den Titel WSOP Player of the Year, Doppelsieger Anthony Zinno<\/a> denkbar knapp auf den Fersen.<\/p>

Für seine Tiraden und sein Verhalten gegenüber anderen Spielern muss man Hellmuth leider nach wie vor mit Nachdruck kritisieren und man darf auch von der WSOP erwarten, dass sie eigentlich schon längst hätte einschreiten müssen. Trotz dessen zeigt Hellmuth Jahr für Jahr etwas Besonderes bei der World Series – ein Talent, das man nur schwer genau definieren kann, das ihm immer wieder neue Erfolge bei der Turnierserie einbringt. Trotz seiner respektlosen Gefühlsausbrüche bleibt es faszinierend, wie er seine beeindruckende WSOP-Ausbeute nach wie vor weiter verbessern kann. Am Ende will er es vermutlich mehr als alle anderen...<\/p>
