Es ist äußerst selten, dass ein Spieler dasselbe WSOP-Turnier zweimal in Folge gewinnt. Was Adam Friedman vollbracht hat, könnte also bis in alle Ewigkeit ein einzigartiges Kunststück bleiben, nachdem der US-Profi nun 2018, 2019 und 2021 dreimal bei der Dealer's Choice Championship triumphieren konnte.<\/p>

Dabei setzte er sich gegen ein Feld von 93 Spielern durch, das es einmal mehr in sich hatte, darunter erfahrene Gegner wie Matt Glantz, Jake Schwartz und Mike Matusow. Als Belohnung für das Triple gab es als Hauptpreis $248.350.<\/p>

Noch nie in der Geschichte konnte ein Spieler ein WSOP-Turnier dreimal in Folge gewinnen, sodass Friedmans Leistung bereits mit dem Doppelerfolg von Michael Mizrachi bei der Players Championship verglichen wird.<\/p>

\"Es ist wirklich unglaublich. Ich hatte das niemals erwarte\", sagte Friedman kurz nach seinem Triumph. \"Ich wollte einfach eine Chance, etwas auf die Beine zu stellen, was in der 53-jährigen Geschichte der World Series noch niemand vollbracht hat und dass es mir dann in diesem Event gelingt, ist einfach fantastisch. Sobald ein Spieler einmal die Dealer's Choice gespielt hat, kommt er immer wieder zurück.\"<\/p>

Haben wir schon erwähnt, wer gegen Friedman im Heads-up das Nachsehen hatte? Phil Hellmuth<\/strong>. Auch der Poker Brat war auf dem besten Wege, Geschichte zu schreiben, scheiterte am Ende aber denkbar knapp. Mit insgesamt fünf Final-Table-Teilnahmen in diesem Jahr und seinem Sieg beim $1.500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw<\/a> hat Hellmuth nun aber eine komfortable Führung im Rennen um den Player-of-the-Year-Titel. Dabei wäre es auch fast zu einer Neuauflage des Heads-ups im Lowball-Event gekommen, nachdem sein dortiger Kontrahent Jake Schwartz bei der Dealer's Choice Championship auf Platz 3 landete.<\/p>

Die Schlagzeile gebührt aber zweifellos Adam Friedman, der nun bereits erstaunliche 1.232 Tage als Champion des $10.000 Dealer's Choice geführt wurde. Ohne jede Zweifel eine der beeindruckendsten Leistungen der WSOP-Geschichte.<\/p>
