Man könnte meinen, der Zweitplatzierte George Holmes aus den USA wäre auch der zweitgrößte Gewinner beim WSOP Main Event, tatsächlich ist es aber der berüchtigte Tax Man!<\/p>

Wie üblich im Anschluss an das Pokerturnier des Jahres hat Russ Fox von Taxable Talk<\/a> einmal mehr die vermutete Steuerlast jedes Spielers im Finale des WSOP Main Event unter die Lupe genommen. Und wie so oft fällt einem die Kinnlade herunter, wenn man sieht, wie groß die Unterschiede von Land zu Land bei derart hohen Summen ausfallen.<\/p>

Koray Aldemir ist der mit Abstand größte Gewinner von allen<\/a>, aber das nicht nur, weil er den Hauptpreis abräumen konnte, sondern auch weil es sich der gebürtige Berliner wie so viele deutsche Pokerspieler in Österreich gemütlich gemacht hat, wo Pokergewinne nach wie vor in Gänze steuerfrei<\/strong> sind.<\/p>

Dasselbe gilt für die beiden Briten Jack Oliver und Jareth East, die beide ihr Preisgeld von $3 Millionen bzw. $1,1 Millionen in voller Höhe behalten können.<\/p>

Im Gegensatz dazu wird US-Hobbyspieler George Holmes bei seinem Gewinn von $4,3 Millionen deutliche Einbußen hinnehmen müssen und wird am Ende mit geschätzt \"lediglich\" $2.497.989 nach Hause gehen. Der Drittplatzierte hat also unterm Strich mehr gewonnen als der Zweitplatzierte. Darüber hinaus wird Holmes alleine mehr an Steuern abführen, als der Fünftplatzierte Ozgur Secilmis aus der Türkei überhaupt an Gewinn einfahren konnte. <\/p>

Gleichermaßen wird Jareth East auf Platz 8 netto ein höheres Preisgeld verbuchen als die beiden Spieler, die eigentlich vor ihm gelandet sind.<\/p>

Insgesamt erwartet man, dass Steuern von $4.960.663 allein durch die Final-Table-Gewinner<\/strong> gezahlt werden, womit man das tatsächliche Preisgeld für Platz 2 mit Leichtigkeit übertroffen hat. Allein $3.767.973 gehen davon an die Bundessteuerbehörde der Vereinigten Staaten. <\/p>
