Das Rennen um den Titel \"WSOP Player of the Year\" war in diesem Jahr so spannend wie schon lange Zeit nicht mehr. Der Wettbewerb war äußerst umkämpft und mehrere Spieler hatten bis zuletzt gute Aussichten auf den Sieg. Am Ende setzte sich aber ein Name durch, den im Vorfeld nur die wenigsten auf dem Schirm hatten.<\/p>

Josh Arieh holte sich den begehrten Titel in einem Jahr, in dem acht Spieler einen Doppelsieg bei der WSOP<\/strong> erringen konnten (einschließlich der Online-Ausgabe im Sommer), darunter auch Arieh selbst. Zudem konnte Phil Hellmuth bei der Live-Ausgabe in diesem Jahr einen neuen Rekord für erreichte Final Table aufstellen<\/strong>, nachdem er es bei der WSOP 2021 insgesamt sieben Mal in ein Turnierfinale geschafft hatte. Am Ende sprang für Hellmuth jedoch abermals nur Platz 2 im Rennen zum WSOP Player of the Year heraus, mit dem er sich mittlerweile schon viermal zufriedengeben musste.<\/p>

Arieh selbst kam derweil auf fünf Final Table, gepaart mit zwei Turniersiegen und insgesamt 12 Cashes<\/strong>. Durchsetzen konnte sich der US-Profi dabei bei der $10.000 PLO8 Championship für $484.791 und beim $1.500-PLO-Event für $204.766. Die weiteren Preisgelder schraubten seine Gesamtausbeute bei der WSOP in diesem Jahr auf $1.102.367, zuzüglich nun weiteren $15.000 für den Player-of-the-Year-Titel.<\/p>

Die WSOP befindet sich derweil auf der Zielgeraden, nachdem nur noch 30 Spieler beim finalen $5.000-Turnier verbleiben und Michael Addamo aktuell die letzten fünf verbliebenen Spieler im $100.000 Super High Roller anführt. Abseits davon werden im Rio in Las Vegas bereits die restlichen Tische abtransportiert, nachdem das Casino in diesem Jahr zum letzten Mal die World Series of Poker ausgerichtet hat.<\/p>
