Beim High Stakes Duel von PokerGO hat Daniel Negreanu seinen ersten Sieg errungen. Im Heads-up mit $50.000 Buy-in konnte er sich gegen Eric Persson durchsetzen. Nachdem Negreanu in vorherigen Ausgaben des Formats gleich dreimal seinem Konkurrenten Phil Helmuth unterlag, konnte er damit nun seinen ersten Sieg bei der Show feiern. <\/p>

Als Hommage an den legendären Auftritt von Eric Persson, <\/a>bei dem er Phil Hellmuth so zur Weißglut trieb, dass dieser wutentbrannt das Studio verließ, trug Negreanu einen Muskelanzug und Handschuhe mit überdimensionierten Mittelfingern. <\/p>

Im Gegensatz zu Perssons berühmten Debüt war die Stimmung hier allerdings ausgelassen und freundlich. Die beiden trieben ihre Scherze miteinander, während sie sich heiter am Tisch duellierten. Es herrschte solch eine positive Atmosphäre, wie wir sie zuletzt selten bei Heads-up-Duellen erleben durften. Spielerisch war das Match zugunsten von Negreanu recht einseitig, die Pokergötter waren ihm so wohlgesonnen, dass Persson überwiegend chancenlos blieb. <\/p>

Eine neue Regeländerung des Formats sieht vor, dass ein Spieler erst nach zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Siegen in die nächste Runde einziehen kann. Ursprünglich war geplant, dass die beiden Kontrahenten in einem $100.000-Heads-up erneut gegeneinander antreten. Allerdings entschied sich Persson, auf ein Rematch zu verzichten: <\/p>

Im Vorfeld des Hauptevents wurde am vergangenen Wochenende auch die erste 'Undercard' ausgetragen. Bei diesem einmaligen Duell, als Vorkampf präsentiert, trafen Shaun Deeb und Mike Matusow aufeinander und spielten im SNG-Format ein Heads-up mit Buy-in von $10.000.<\/p>

Und es war nicht das erste Mal, dass Deeb versucht hat, Matusow mit quälenden Slowrolls aus dem Konzept zu bringen, doch dieses Mal schlug das Karma zurück: Mike 'The Mouth' gelang es, sich mit einem überzeugenden Sieg den Gewinn von $20.000 zu sichern. <\/p>
