Eine der interessantesten Geschichten des Pokerjahres ist für einen Pokerenthusiasten wie mich zweifellos die Rückkehr des Big One for One Drop im Zuge der WPT<\/a>.<\/p>

Mir fällt spontan nur ein weiteres Beispiel ein, bei dem ein Main Event der Triple Crown zu einem anderen Veranstalter migrierte. Das PCA bei PokerStars fand ursprünglich unter der Regie der WPT statt, wurde jedoch später im Rahmen der EPT\/NAPT ausgetragen.<\/p>

Eine bemerkenswerte Änderung, die bisher von niemandem aufgegriffen wurde, betrifft die Aufhebung der Teilnehmerbegrenzung<\/strong>. Mir wurde bestätigt, dass es in diesem Jahr kein Limit für die Anzahl der Spieler gibt, wohingegen das $1-Millionen-Event in der Vergangenheit auf 48 Teilnehmer beschränkt war. <\/p>

Allerdings wurde diese Obergrenze ohnehin nur während des allerersten Events im Jahr 2012 erreicht. Könnte es dieses Jahr, ohne jede Beschränkung, gelingen, den Teilnehmerrekord zu brechen?<\/p>

High-Stakes-Partien im Aufschwung<\/h2>

Ich bin jedenfalls zuversichtlich, denn zurzeit erleben wir besonders an den High-Stakes-Tischen jede Menge Action. <\/p>

Vermutlich lässt sich das 2019 in London ausgetragene Triton-Event<\/a> mit einem Buy-in von 1 Million Pfund und 54 Teilnehmern als Maßstab nutzen. Obwohl dieses Turnier schon vier Jahre her ist, und vor der COVID-Pandemie stattfand, sind viele der damaligen Teilnehmer heute immer noch in den High-Roller-Turnieren vertreten. Es ist anzunehmen, dass die meisten dieser Spieler sich das Buy-in für The Big One noch immer leisten können oder zumindest im Rahmen eines Stakings teilnehmen werden. <\/p>

Auch an den High-Stakes-Cashtischen gab es zuletzt reichlich Action, insbesondere beim Million-Dollar-Game im Hustler Casino. Dabei wurde der Rekord für den größten live übertragenen Pott der Geschichte gebrochen.<\/p>

Optimale Positionierung <\/h2>

Was meiner Meinung nach für ein rekordverdächtiges Teilnehmerfeld sorgen kann, ist die richtige Marketingstrategie für dieses Event.<\/p>

Dieses Event markiert den krönenden Abschluss eines ereignisreichen Pokermonats, in dem sowohl das WSOP Paradise als auch das WPT World Championship stattfindet. Das WPT World Championship genießt in der Pokerwelt äußerst hohes Ansehen<\/strong>, und wird jeden Spieler mit Rang und Namen nach Las Vegas locken. <\/p>

Der Zeitpunkt des Events ist gut gewählt, da es nun nicht mehr mit der WSOP kollidiert und die Spieler die Anstrengungen des Sommers bereits hinter sich gelassen haben. Solch ein Event am Jahresende könnte einige Spieler dazu verleiten, ihr ohnehin erfolgreiches Pokerjahr zu krönen, während es anderen, weniger erfolgreichen Spielern, die Möglichkeit bietet, das Ruder auf den letzten Metern noch herumzureißen.<\/p>

Es sieht ganz danach aus, als ob es in diesem Jahr mehr Hype rund um das Event geben wird, da die WPT nach und nach die Teilnehmerliste veröffentlicht hat<\/a>. Unter der Regie der WSOP wurden solche Teaser jedenfalls ein wenig versäumt.  <\/p>

Die ursprüngliche Obergrenze von 48 Spielern wird meiner Meinung nach mit Leichtigkeit übertroffen. Gut vorstellbar, dass es dieses Jahr sogar 70 Spieler werden. <\/p>
