Letztes Jahr um diese Zeit kündigten die World Series of Poker und GGPoker die WSOP Paradise an. Direkte Konkurrenz für die WPT World Championship und die EPT Prague, die zur gleichen Zeit stattfinden. <\/p>\n

Viele Leute, mich eingeschlossen, standen dem Event zynisch gegenüber. Es sah eher so aus, als würde es dem WPT Championship schaden, als dass es die Marke WSOP\/GG stärken würde.<\/p>\n

Wir haben uns geirrt. Das Event war nicht nur ein Erfolg, da es fast alle Garantien übertraf, sondern es schien auch einen positiven Einfluss auf die Zahlen in Vegas und Prag<\/a> zu haben. Viele spielten sowohl das Main Evebt auf den Bahamas als auch in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n

Jetzt scheint die zweite Auflage der WSOP Paradise<\/a> eine noch größere Herausforderung für die WPT-Weltmeisterschaft zu sein. Es gibt ein „Super Main Event“ mit einem Buy-in von $25.000 (gegenüber $5.000 im letzten Jahr) mit einer Garantie von $50.000.000<\/strong> (die WPT World Championship garantierte letztes Jahr $40 Millionen).<\/p>\n

Außerdem gibt es ein Event mit einem Buy-In von $1.000.000, das dem letztjährigen Big One for One Drop bei der WPT World Championship entspricht. <\/p>\n

Ich sollte eigentlich aus dem letzten Jahr gelernt haben, aber ich bin wieder einmal skeptisch. Kann das Main Event wirklich 2.000 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer anlocken? Wenn man nur in die Nähe davon käme, wäre es das größte $25k-Turnier der Geschichte und fast doppelt so groß wie die Rekord-PSPC aus dem Jahr 2019. Wieder einmal scheinen die Events nur darauf ausgelegt zu sein, dem WPT World Championship zu schaden. Die WPT wird sich sicherlich gezwungen fühlen, zumindest die $40.000.000-Garantie vom letzten Jahr (mit einem $240k-Overlay<\/a>) zu garantieren. <\/p>\n

Die WPT World Championship hat immer noch das Prestige und den guten Ruf, aber das Zuckerbrot, das von GGPoker in Aussicht gestellt wird, ist ein extrem großes Overlay. Die Frage ist, ob die World Poker Tour etwas Großes aus dem Hut zaubern wird, oder ob sie ein kleineres Festival veranstalten und GGPoker den Triumph überlassen wird?<\/p>\n

Ich vermute, dass die WSOP Paradise nah an die Garantie von $50.000.000 herankommen wird, aber GGPoker wird wieder sehr viele Satellites veranstalten. Diese Turniere sind wahrscheinlich das Beste, was man im Vorfeld online spielen kann.<\/p>\n

Meine andere Vorhersage ist, dass PokerStars nichts an der EPT Prag ändern wird. Die EPT Prag ist die perfekte Option für Europäer, die nicht weit reisen wollen, und hat letztes Jahr auch ohne zusätzliches Marketing ein Rekordfeld angezogen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Der Spinner in mir hofft, dass die WPT entweder eine noch höhere Garantie ankündigt oder einfach nur zum Spaß ihr Festival in den November verlegt. Letztes Jahr lag ich in Sachen WSOP- Paradise falsch. Hoffen wir, dass die steigende Flut dieses Jahr wieder alle Schiffe hebt. <\/p>\n
