Während die WSOP in Las Vegas Jahr für Jahr stabile Zahlen<\/a> liefert, gibt es auch in Europa ein Turnier, das durch kontinuierliches Wachstum von sich reden macht: der Grosvenor Goliath im britischen Coventry.<\/p>

Dieses Poker-Spektakel brach einmal mehr seinen eigenen Rekord als größtes Turnier außerhalb von Las Vegas. <\/p>

Im Vorjahr lockte das £200-Event bereits beeindruckende 11.749 Teilnehmer<\/a> an. Dieses Jahr legte der Goliath noch eine Schippe drauf und verzeichnete sagenhafte 12.961 Anmeldungen<\/strong> – verteilt auf acht Starttage, darunter ein Flight mit rekordverdächtigen 2.368 Spielern, so viele wie nie zuvor an einem Tag.<\/p>

Während in den Vorjahren am Final Table noch Deals geschlossen wurden, ging es diesmal ohne Absprachen bis zum Showdown. Am Ende war es Paul Worsley, der seinen £200-Einsatz in einen satten Zahltag von £316.640<\/strong> verwandelte.<\/p>

Austragungsort des Mega-Turniers ist das Stadion des Fußballclubs Coventry City, das durch die direkte Anbindung an ein Hotel ideale Voraussetzungen für ein Teilnehmerfeld dieser Größenordnung bietet. Die Erfolgsgeschichte geht weiter: Die Goliath 2026 wurde bereits offiziell für denselben Zeitraum angekündigt.<\/p>
