Ein Pokerclub in Texas trat gegen die Behörden von Dallas an, nachdem die Schließung des Clubs drohte und feierte in der letzten Woche einen entscheidenden Erfolg, der einen dreijährigen Rechtsstreit beendete.<\/p>

Die Texas Card House (TCH), im Besitz von Ryan Crow, setzte sich letztlich gegen mehrere Hunderttausend Dollar an Steuergeldern durch. Beobachter gehen davon aus, dass die endgültige Berufung des Staates am vergangenen Freitag vom Obersten Gerichtshof von Texas abgewiesen wurde.<\/p>

Die Texas Card House erhielt ursprünglich im Jahr 2020 die Genehmigung, den Betrieb aufzunehmen. Zwei Jahre später wurde die Entscheidung des Stadtrats, Poker im Club zu erlauben, jedoch widerrufen. Crow legte Berufung beim Dallas Board of Adjustment (BOA) ein und gewann. Doch Andrew Espinoza, der leitende Bauamtsleiter der Stadt, entschied sich, den Fall erneut aufzurollen und setzte dafür $370.000 an öffentlichen Geldern ein. Dieser Kampf endete nun, nachdem der Oberste Gerichtshof von Texas die Klage abgewiesen hat. Damit bleibt das Urteil aus dem August des vergangenen Jahres bestehen und die TCH darf weiterhin Pokerfans empfangen<\/a>.<\/p>

Auch wenn sie Konkurrenten sind, unterstützte der Lodge Card Club die TCH während des gesamten Prozesses und feierte am Freitag gemeinsam mit den Betreibern den Sieg (siehe Bild).<\/p>

„Gestern war ein großartiger Sieg für Poker im Bundesstaat Texas<\/a>“, schrieb Doug Polk auf X<\/em>. „Nach jahrelangen Gerichtsverfahren hat der Oberste Gerichtshof von Texas die Versuche der Stadt Dallas abgelehnt, einen Pokerraum dort zu schließen. Dieses Urteil ist der größtmögliche Sieg, um unser Recht auf Poker zu schützen. Shuffle up and deal<\/a>!“<\/p>

Polk, der den LCC zusammen mit den Pokerprofis Brad Owen und Andrew Neeme besitzt, hatte im vergangenen Jahr selbst keine Genehmigung für die Eröffnung eines zweiten Pokerraums im Bundesstaat erhalten<\/a>.<\/p>

Espinozas Argument war, dass die ursprüngliche Genehmigung für den Betrieb der TCH „fehlerhaft“ erteilt worden sei. Nicht zum ersten Mal wurde der Texas Penal Code von beiden Seiten heiß diskutiert. Letztlich erhielt die TCH jedoch Unterstützung von ihrem größten Konkurrenten im Bundesstaat, da Polk, Owen und Neeme das Recht der TCH verteidigten, Pokerpartien auf die gleiche Weise anzubieten wie sie selbst – durch die Erhebung einer Mitgliedsgebühr anstelle von Rake.<\/p>

Mit sechs Pokerclubs im gesamten Lone Star State blieb die TCH während des gesamten Rechtsstreits in Betrieb. Nun scheint dieser Kampf endgültig beendet zu sein.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
