Zum Ort eines Misserfolgs zurückzukehren, ist im Poker schon schwer genug. Der Weg zu einem Veranstaltungsort, an dem man kurz vor den bezahlten Plätzen ausgeschieden ist oder am Finaltisch einen Bad Beat erlitten hat, kann sehr schmerzhaft sein. Doch in der Stand-up-Comedy? Das erfordert echten Mut.<\/p>

Doug Polk ist nicht jemand, der vor einer Herausforderung zurückschreckt. Nachdem er sich mit dem Bundesstaat Texas im Texas-Card-House-Fall angelegt<\/a> hatte, kehrte Polk nach Austin zurück, um erneut auf der Bühne der „Kill Tony“-Show zu stehen. Kill Tony ist ein beliebter Live Podcast, der vor Publikum aufgezeichnet wird und Menschen aus allen Lebensbereichen die Möglichkeit gibt, sich für 60 Sekunden an Live Comedy zu versuchen.<\/p>

Doug Polk hatte ursprünglich ein $40.000 Heads-up No Limit Hold’em Spiel gegen den Moderator und Gastgeber Tony Hinchcliffe gewonnen, was seinen ersten Auftritt in der Show im Juni<\/a> ermöglichte. Diese Woche kehrte er zurück, um einen zweiten Versuch zu wagen. Kill Tony hat über 2.000.000 Abonnenten und mehr als 500.000.000 Aufrufe online. Nach seinem erfolgreichen ersten Auftritt im Sommer musste Polks zweiter Auftritt perfekt sitzen. Hinchcliffe, Brian Redban und die Kill Tony Band warten bereits darauf, den Gong zu schlagen.<\/p>

Während Tony und seine Kollegen Polk damit aufziehen wollten, dass er ein Verlustjahr hat – der Mitinhaber des Lodge Card Club<\/a> erzählte, dass er 2025 bisher $700.000 im Minus ist – begann Polk sein Programm mit persönlichen Witzen über Tony und erntete dafür einige große Lacher. Danach wechselte er zu einem Sketch über den Besuch einer Selbsthilfegruppe für Antialkoholiker und bekam erneut Applaus, besonders als er Redban wegen seiner geringen täglichen Schrittzahl auf die Schippe nahm. Nach dem Auftritt gab es sofortiges Feedback von Tony und seinem Team, bevor Polk im Nachgespräch den Unterschied zwischen Poker und anderen Strategiespielen wie Schach erklärte.<\/p>

Hat er wieder abgeliefert?<\/h2>

„Das Schöne am Poker ist, dass Glück ein großer Faktor<\/a> ist“, erklärte er dem Publikum, das ihn durchgehend unterstützte. „Wenn du gegen Magnus Carlsen<\/a> im Schach spielst, wird er dich vernichten. Aber im Poker kann jeder gewinnen – was gut ist, auch wenn die Profis natürlich langfristig vorne liegen.“<\/p>

Nachdem Polk den Auftritt auf seinem eigenen YouTube-Kanal hochgeladen hatte, gaben Fans ihre Meinung in den Kommentaren ab.<\/p>

„Guter Auftritt, Doug. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass du etwas nervös warst, die Darbietung war ein wenig holprig, aber die Witze waren stark, toller Anfang und starkes Ende“, schrieb ein Fan.<\/p>

„Bleib dran und sammel weiter Erfahrung! Respekt dafür, dass du dich auf die Bühne stellst. Der erste Auftritt war besser, aber bleib dran – freue mich schon auf Nummer drei!“, kommentierte ein anderer.<\/p>

„Mega Auftritt, die Vortragsweise war großartig“, meinte ein weiterer Zuschauer.<\/p>
