\"\"72 Spieler nahmen an der vierten Auflage der \"PartyPoker European Open\" teil. Je sechs Teilnehmer spielten einen Vorrunden-Heat. Die 12 Sieger traten im Halbfinale gegeneinander an. Zwei weitere Halbfinalplätze wurden unter den Zweitplatzierten der Vorrunde vergeben. In zwei Turboheats zu je sechs Spielern hatten auch sie noch die Chance auf den Halbfinaleinzug. Die letzten drei Spieler beider Halbfinal-Heats nahmen ihren Chipcount mit ins Finale und spielten dort den Sieg aus.<\/p>

\"Obrestad\"Ian Frazer hatte sein Halbfinale dominiert und war mit 469.000 in Chips der Bigstack. Burgess und Slade, die mit Frazer im ersten Halbfinale spielten, waren mit je knapp über 100.000 in Chips als Shortstacks am Final Table gestartet. Das zweite Halbfinale gestaltete sich ausgeglichener. Tyler kam mit 351.000 in Chips an den Final Table und war damit engster Verfolger von Frazer. Obrestad folgte mit 235.000 in Chips. Helppi war mit 114.000 in Chips dritter Shortstack.<\/p>

Das Finale machten jedoch die beiden Außenseiter Nick Slade und Craig Burgess unter sich aus und ließen die hoch gehandelte Pokerprominenz hinter sich. Als Shortstack gestartet, spielte sich Nick Slade kontinuierlich an die Spitze des Feldes. Dabei konnte er Tyler, Obrestad und Ian Frazer vom Tisch nehmen, bevor es ins Heads-Up gegen Burgess ging. Mit über 90 Prozent der Chips war es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis Slade den Sack zu machen und den größten Gewinn seiner Karriere einfahren konnte.<\/p>
