\"\" also erstmal Gratulation an Mike Matusow, den Gewinner der NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship 2013<\/a>.
Ich will mich heute gar nicht damit beschäftigen, ob das nun “gut\", “schlecht” oder “vielleicht gut” ist für Poker, dass einer der alten Helden mal wieder triumphieren konnte. Ich freue mich einfach für ihn!<\/p>

Vermutlich werden die Einschaltquoten es bestimmen, wenn Hellmuth und Matusow, die alten Haudegen, in den TV-Trailern sich martialisch anstarren, ihre Fäuste zum Kampf ballen und dabei mit diabolischem Grinsen “I'll beat you, sucker!” schreien.
Den Verantwortlichen müssen jedenfalls tonnenweise Steine von den Herzen gefallen sein, dass Daniel Cates und Joe Serock auf dem Weg ins Finale noch rechtzeitig unter die Räder gekommen sind.<\/p>

Es war eine tolle Erfahrung bei einer TV-Produktion wie dieser dabei gewesen zu sein. Ich hab mich mehrmals dabei erwischt, wie ich mit offenem Mund die massiven Kameraschwenkarme beobachtet habe. Wie mit dem Bewegen eines kleinen Joysticks die gesamte Kameraapparatur manövriert werden konnte, beeindruckte mich wie zuletzt in Kindertagen der getunte Manta meines Nachbarn. Wow!<\/p>

Spieler vermisst!<\/h2>

Das “Who is Who” der Pokerszene war also in den Caesars Palace gekommen und doch war es irgendwie eine Zweiklassengesellschaft. Alle trugen einen großen Namen, doch während einige sich einfach hinsetzten und Karten spielten, sorgten andere wiederum für Gesprächsstoff bevor sie überhaupt den Pokerraum betraten.
Es war Tag 1, als sich die Hektik vor Produktionsbeginn langsam legte, jeder Techniker und jeder Kamerassistent seinen Platz eingenommen hatte, als plötzlich die Produktionschefin, Kathy Eskandani, erschrocken rief: “We are missing a player!”.
Alle blickten umher und machten bald den leeren Platz aus. “It is this Internet superstar. The kid from Sweden”, sagte Kathy.<\/p>

Jetzt konnte es einige Gründe geben, wieso Blom nicht auftauchte. Entweder er war betrunken und lag mit `nem Riesenkater noch im Bett oder er hatte nicht geschlafen, weil der Jetlag ihm noch immer zusetzte oder es hatte etwas mit Gambling zu tun.
Oder aber, (nicht) überraschenderweise, es war alles drei.
Kathy stand noch immer neben mir und murmelte: “I hope nothing happened to him. Damn it! It is so much money.”
Sofort schoss mir das “big_grin” Smiley aus dem Forum in den Kopf und ich stellte mir vor, wie Isildur1 mit 10.000 Dollar pro Hand Blackjack spielte und dabei mit jeder Menge Spass einen Wodka oder mehr in sich hineingoss und in Swings von 200.000 Dollar ertrank. <\/p>

Kathy sagte: “Ok, they have found him!”
Ich fragte: “He is coming now?”,
“No, they have to clean him up first!”<\/p>

Oh, es war also doch schlimmer als erwartet. Dass er nicht wie \"Admin\"jungleman12<\/a><\/strong> im schicken Zweiteiler und Einstecktuch auftauchen würde, war mir schon klar, aber dann schlurfte er fünf Minuten später in Jogginghose und weissem 10 Dollar T-Shirt in den Pokerraum und ich dachte mir so: “Hmm ok, wie muss er dann wohl vorher ausgesehen haben?”<\/p>

Es stellte sich heraus, dass Viktor bis in den frühen morgen hinein High Stakes Openface-Chinese Poker gespielt hatte. Man munkelte mit tausend Dollar und mehr pro Punkt. Ihr könnt euch selber vorstellen, welche Swings damit einhergehen. Aber seien wir doch mal ehrlich: Alles andere wäre auch überraschend gewesen.<\/p>

Wie gewonnen so zerronnen?<\/h2>

Wie sich die Hierarchien in der Pokerwelt verschoben haben, wurde mir dann nach dem Event bewusst, als Mike Matusow mir erzählte, dass es der grösste Moment für ihn gewesen sei, dass Isildur1 nach seinem Zweitrunden-Match ihm die Hand gab, zu seinem beeindruckenden Spiel gratulierte und ihm viel Glück wünschte. Man konnte den Eindruck haben, er spricht über einen Heiligen, so viel Respekt schwang in seinen Worten mit.
Blom scheint wahrlich auf dem besten Weg zu sein, den Sprung von einem Online-Grinder zu einer dauerhaften Pokerlegende zu schaffen.<\/p>

Ü<\/span>brigens, während Matusow und Hellmuth ihr drittes Match spielten, tauchte plötzlich ein Altbekannter am TV-Set auf – Ted Forrest.
Einige von euch werden sich vielleicht noch an eine Sidebet erinnern, die es zwischen ihm und Matusow gab<\/a>.
“The Mouth” war kühn genug, zu wetten, dass es Forrest nicht gelänge, innerhalb von nur zwei Monaten rund 25 Kilo abzunehmen. Er bot dafür Odds von 20-1 an und Forrest stieg ein - mit 100.000 Dollar.
Forrest schaffte den Gewichtsverlust, ihm blieb allerdings nur Matusows Versprechen, die 2 Millionen auftreiben zu wollen, denn das Geld hatte dieser, ihr ahnt es schon, nie gehabt.
Es ist also durchaus vorstellbar, dass das Preisgeld der NBC Heads-Up Championship in diesem Jahr in eine andere Tasche wandert. <\/p>
