Nachdem ich in der letzten Woche einige Male die neuen Flip-&-Go-Partien von GGPoker<\/a> gespielt habe, bin ich zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass das neue Turnierformat auf reichlich Anklang treffen wird. Ja, der erste Teil der Turniere stellt auf den ersten Blick reines Gambling dar, aber da ich persönlich ohnehin mehr Spaß an der späten Turnierphase habe und keine allzu langen Sessions spielen will, passt Flip & Go bestens zu meinen Präferenzen.<\/p>

Die Tatsache, dass beim Turnierbeginn erst einmal geflippt wird, sorgt in meinen Augen auch dafür, dass vermehrt Gambler an die Tische gelockt werden und die Endphase des Turniers somit profitabel ausfallen kann für Spieler, die das ICM beherrschen. Diesen Aspekt habe ich mit unserem ICM-Guru bei PokerStrategy.com Collin Moshman<\/a> besprochen, um zu sehen, wie er das neue Format wahrnimmt:<\/p>

\"Es gibt eine begrenzte Edge in diesen Turnieren, wenn man den initialen Flip und den Rake von 5% bei den meisten Buy-ins berücksichtigt. Auf der anderen Seite kann das Teilnehmerfeld tatsächlich sehr soft ausfallen und es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass viele Spieler heftige ICM-Fehler begehen, wenn sie den Startstack mit einem höheren Buy-in beeinflussen können. Ich gehe davon aus, dass die Partien leicht zu schlagen sind.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

Flippen mit Strategieaspekt<\/h2>

Persönlich habe ich damit gerechnet, dass der Flip-Anteil in einem stumpfen Gemetzel ausartet. Als ich die Turniere jedoch selbst gespielt habe, musste ich feststellen, dass tatsächlich etwas Entscheidungsfindung gefragt war. Das Ablegen einer von drei Startkarten gestaltet sich strategischer als erwartet, da man auch sieht, welche drei Karten jeder Gegner erhalten hat<\/strong>.<\/p>

Ein vernünftiges Verständnis von Equity und Blockern ist ebenso nötig wie solide Annahmen zur gegnerischen Kartenauswahl, um keinen groben Fehler bei der eigenen Kartenauswahl zu machen. Unser Kolumnist Dara O'Kearney<\/a> coacht mittlerweile die ersten Spieler bei Flip & Go<\/a> und ist derselben Meinung:<\/p>

\"Die Flip-Phase stellt nicht so viel Gambling dar, wie manch einer wohl denken mag, da man nicht nur eine Karte ablegen muss, sondern auch sieht, was alle anderen am Tisch erhalten haben. Man weiß also, wie viele der eigenen Outs dead sind und muss das bei seiner Auswahl berücksichtigen. Die meisten Spieler machen den Fehler und entscheiden sich schlichtweg für die zwei höchsten Holecards, egal ob sie nun überhaupt in Multiway-Pötten performen oder nicht.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

Auch das richtige Buy-in ist gefragt<\/h2>

Mit Dara habe ich mich darüber hinaus auch über eine adäquate Buy-in-Strategie ausgetauscht, da man sich für die Flip-Phase mit einem bis zehn Buy-ins einkaufen kann. Ein großer Stack sorgt dafür, dass es wahrscheinlicher wird, dass man die erste Runde übersteht. Ein kleiner Stack maximiert hingegen den ROI. Was ist also besser?<\/p>

\"In strategischer Hinsicht hat die Höhe des Stacks, mit dem man sich einkauft, noch mehr Relevanz als die Ablegephase zu Beginn. Je höher der Stack ausfällt, umso höher sind natürlich die Chancen, die Endphase zu erreichen, das bringt jedoch einen ICM-Nachteil mit sich. Ein fundamentales Prinzip des ICM ist bekanntlich, dass der Wert von Chips abnimmt, je mehr man davon im Turnier hat. Man gewinnt also die Flip-Phase häufiger mit einem großen Stack, es kostet jedoch langfristig auch mehr Equity.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

Aktuell liegen 30 Minuten zwischen einer Partie und der nächsten und der Einsatz einer Strategie mit kleinem Buy-in bedeutet, dass man in etwa 95% der Fälle sofort ausscheidet. Der Mensch kann nur schwer ertragen, mit solcher einer Frequenz zu verlieren. Das bedeutet in der aktuellen Struktur, dass man Flip & Go wohl eher zum Ende einer Session einstreuen sollte, statt seinen gesamten Fokus darauf auszurichten, da Enttäuschung in der Flip-Phase zum Alltag gehören wird.<\/p>

Ich gehe dennoch davon aus, dass das Format profitabel ist, da sich in der Endphase derart viele Spieler einfinden werden, die es bei einem normalen Turnier nur selten so weit schaffen würden. Das letzte Wort im Artikel überlasse ich aber Dara:<\/p>

\"Kurzfristig werden sie enorm profitabel sein, wenn man das richtige Buy-in und die richtige Ablegestrategie verfolgt. In den Preisrängen wird man dann gegen schwächere Konkurrenz antreten als bei gewöhnlichen Turniere, wo die Leute tatsächlich Poker spielen mussten, um überhaupt erst so weit zu kommen.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>
