Mit 24.400.000 Chips liegt Demidov nur rund 2 Millionen hinter dem Chipleader Dennis Phillips. Nach dem erreichen des Final Tables war Demidov erst einmal glücklich nach Hause zu können und freute sich vor allem darauf, sich mit seinen Freunden „ordentlich einen zu kippen“. Wie auch Phillips, glaubt er, dass ein Sieg in seinem Leben nichts Grundlegendes verändern würde. Schon jetzt könne er seinen Lebensunterhalt mit Poker verdienen, ohne dabei täglich spielen zu müssen.<\/p>

\"IvanSo selbstsicher erschien Demidov allerdings nicht immer. Am finalen Tisch der WSOP wirkte der junge Onlinespieler noch zurückhaltend und fast schon medienscheu und eingeschüchtert. Das Problem scheint der junge Russe jedoch gut in den Griff bekommen zu haben. <\/p>

Bereits am Final Table der WSOP Europe in London machte Demidov einen sehr gefestigten Eindruck. Fast hätte er sogar das unmögliche möglich machen können - beide WSOP Mainevents in einem Jahr zu gewinnen. Am Ende blieb ihm in London jedoch „nur“ Platz drei. Dafür sammelte er eine Menge Erfahrung, die ihm am 9. November im Rio All Suite Hotel und Casino zugute kommen wird.<\/p>

Wie auch viele PokerStrategen kam Demidov aus der StarCraft-Szene zum Poker und war bis dahin leidenschaftlicher Spieler des Strategietitels. Doch auch sportlich ist der ehemalige Mathematikstudent vielseitig interessiert. Neben Skifahren und Wildwasserrafting widmet er sich auch dem Tauchen.<\/p>

Das Geld für das WSOP-Mainevent lieh sich Demidov übrigens teilweise bei einem guten Freund. Dieser wird nun mindestens ebenso wie Demidov selbst auf den ersten russischen Sieg in einem WSOP-Mainevent hoffen, dürfte für ihn doch ein beachtlicher Teil des Gewinnes abspringen.<\/p>

Als Inspirationsquelle gab Demidov den russischen PokerStars Pro Alexander Kravchenko an, der im vergangenen Jahr mit Platz vier im Main Event dem Pokersport in Russland endgültig zum Durchbruch verhalf. Nun hoffe er, Kravchenkos vierten Platz noch übertreffen zu können.<\/p>

Bis dahin ist es jedoch noch ein weiter Weg. Auch als Bigstack wird er es nicht einfach haben. Seine Leistungen in den Wochen und Monaten seit der WSOP machen ihn jedoch zu einem heißen Anwärter auf den Titel und ein Preisgeld von über neun Millionen Dollar.<\/p>
