Er selbst nimmt die ganze Situation betont gelassen. „Zweimal hätte ich im Mainevent ausscheiden müssen. Einmal traf ich einen Zweiouter und einmal einen Sechsouter. Ohne die Hände wäre ich gar nicht im Finale“. <\/p>

\nDoch in einem sind sich die Experten einig. Mit Glück allein ist Rheems Performance nicht zu beschreiben. Zu oft schon erreichte er den Final Table eines Majors. Rheem weist dabei zwar bei weitem nicht so viele Cashes auf wie Ylon Schwartz, doch im Gegensatz zu dem erreichte Rheem dabei zahlreiche Topplatzierungen.<\/p>

Seinen größten WSOP-Cash landete er 2006 in einem $1.000 No Limit Hold’em Event, in dem er knapp $330.000 gewann. Allen Cunningham verwies den damaligen Außenseiter auf Rang Zwei und verweigerte ihm damit noch das Bracelet. Am 9. November wird Rheem nun seinerseits als Favorit starten.<\/p>

Seine Pokerkarriere startete vor rund zehn Jahren in Florida. Oft fand man in damals im Seminole Hollywood Casino, wo er sich durch die Lowstakes kämpfte und sich so seinen Lebensunterhalt aufbesserte. <\/p>

In diese Zeit fallen auch Rheems Altlasten, die durch die Medien wanderten. So soll Rhem vor rund acht Jahren unter anderem in illegalen Handel mit Diebesgut verwickelt gewesen sein, und wurde den Angaben zufolge zu vier Monaten Haft verurteilt, die Rheem jedoch nie antrat und stattdessen lieber den Staat Florida verließ.<\/p>

Alles sei geklärt und es handle sich nur um ein Missverständnis ließ Rheem verkünden. Und auch sonst ist es nicht das Bild, das der inzwischen 28-jährige Rheem vermitteln möchte. Zwar noch immer ein Badboy im Geschäft, distanziert er sich jedoch eindeutig vom illegalen Milieu und ist nach Einschätzung Steve Watkins, ehemaliger Pokermanager des Seminole Hollywood Casinos, eigentlich „ein höflicher junger Mann.“<\/p>

\"Und er machte nicht den Fehler, mit der Einstellung heranzugehen, er sei der Beste, sondern versuchte sich so viel wie möglich von erfahrenen Spielern abzugucken, und so viel wie möglich selbst zu spielen.\"<\/i>, so Watkins weiter.<\/p>

Gelernt hat Rheem dabei scheinbar eine Menge. Obwohl Rheem mit dem drittkleinsten Stack – 10.230.000 Chips – ins Finale startet, wird er als Favorit gehandelt.<\/p>
