No-Limit und Potcontrol im Widerspruch<\/figcaption><\/figure>

Pot Control beschreibt das bewusste Checken mit einer soliden, aber nicht überragenden Hand wie etwa Top Pair, und soll in erster Linie eines bewirken: den Pot kleinzuhalten. Denn sobald der Pot eine gewisse Größe überschreitet, könnte ein solides Top Pair womöglich nicht mehr die beste Hand sein.<\/p>

Das Dilemma dieser Strategie besteht darin, dass man der gegnerischen Hand ermöglicht, sich kostengünstig zu verbessern<\/strong>. Die meisten Value-Hände profitieren auf zwei Arten von einer Bet: einerseits, um sich zu schützen, andererseits, um Value zu generieren. Wer bewusst nicht setzt, verzichtet auf beides.<\/p>

Pot Control führt zudem nicht zwangsläufig dazu, dass man den Gegner vom Setzen abhält<\/strong>, nur weil man eine Setzrunde überspringt.<\/p>

Das Spiel trägt aus gutem Grund den Titel No Limit<\/strong>.<\/strong> Wenn dein Gegner eine durchdachte Overbet-Strategie im Repertoire hat, wird er dein Vorhaben vermutlich schnell durchschauen – und genau dort zuschlagen, wo du verwundbar bist. Wer hier glaubt, sich durch Passivität Sicherheit zu erkaufen, irrt.<\/p>

Doch falls der Gegner es nicht versteht, gezielte Overbets zu platzieren, kann Pot Control in ausgewählten Spots durchaus ein probates Mittel sein.<\/p>

Grundsätzlich empfiehlt es sich jedoch, Value-Hände früh anzuspielen, denn schwache Draws sind gerade auf den ersten Straßen besonders callfreudig.<\/p>

Die Vorteile konsequenter Value-Bets und der damit verbundene Schutz vor Draws kompensieren die seltenen Fälle, in denen man drei Straßen lang gegen eine stärkere Hand setzt, auf lange Sicht mehr als ausreichend.<\/p>
