Lediglich fünf, anstatt der üblichen sechs, Spieler sollten gestern zum Final Table in den Foxwoods erscheinen. Dies hatte den Grund, dass am Tag zuvor gleich zwei Spieler in der letzten Hand eliminiert wurden und sich folgende Sitzverteilung für den Finaltisch ergab:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/tr>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\nDer Mann der Stunde<\/b><\/font><\/p>

Amnon Filippi startete dementsprechend als Zweiter in Chips ins Rennen. Sollte er dieses Turnier gewinnen, hätte er mit John Phan nach Punkten gleichziehen können und somit große Chancen darauf gehabt 'Player of the Year Season VII' zu werden.<\/p>

Nachdem der sehr short gestartete Alex Perelberg eliminiert war, sollte Filippi selbst dafür sorgen, dass er dem Chipleader Trincher gefährlich wurde und sich seine Hoffnungen auf einen Turniersieg nähren konnten.<\/p>

Matt Casterella war es, der von Filippi an die Rails geschickt wurde und somit den vierten Platz erreichte. Casterella hielt dabei und musste eines seiner Outs treffen, um gegen Filippis zu bestehen. Die Siebener hielten jedoch und Filippi konnte den Coinflip für sich entscheiden. Casterella nahm $138.905 mit nach Hause.<\/p>

Bevor es zum Heads-up kam war es wiederum Filippi, der dafür sorgte, dass ein Spieler den Tisch verlassen musste. Lenny Cortellino verlor seine letzten Chips an den Spieler der Stunde und begnügte sich mit $214.449 Preisgeld.<\/p>

Höhenflug gestoppt<\/b><\/font><\/p>

Doch Filippis Run sollte gerade im entscheidenden Heads-up stoppen. Auf dem Flop war er mit all-in und gegen Trinchers noch vorn. Doch bereits am Turn kam mit der der Flush für Trincher und der River sollte nichts mehr ändern. Trincher gewann somit das Turnier und $731.079.<\/p>

\nKurzes Resümee und Ausblick<\/font><\/b><\/p>

Das WPT 'Foxwoods Poker Classic' blieb deutlich hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Gerade einmal 259 Spieler erzeugten einen Preispool, bei dem zum ersten Mal in dieser Saison der Erstplatzierte weniger als $1 Mio. mit nach Hause nehmen konnte.<\/p>

Betrachtet man somit das Turnier in den Foxwoods als Generalprobe für das 'WPT Championship Final' im Bellagio, könnte einem als Pokerfan und -spieler, aber vor allem als Verantwortlicher für die WPT, Angst und Bange werden, dass das große Finale ein Reinfall wird.<\/p>

Diese Sorge wird aber voraussichtlich unberechtigt sein. Zwar werden einige Spieler der WPT fern bleiben, da sie sich für die Stopps der EPT entscheiden, doch nichtsdestotrotz gibt es triftige Gründe, dass gerade jetzt so wenig Spieler zu einem WPT-Event erschienen.<\/p>

Im Bellagio (Bild rechts) in Vegas startete bereits das 'Five Star World Poker Classic', deren Höhepunkt das WPT-Finale ist (wir berichteten<\/a>). Auf Grund dieser kleinen Turnierserie werden einige Spieler direkt in Las Vegas geblieben sein oder sich aber schon auf den Weg dorthin gemacht haben. <\/p>

Desweiteren läuft momentan auf PokerStars<\/a> mit der SCOOP eine der innovativsten und wohl auch prestigeträchtigsten Online-Turnierserie und es darf zu vermuten sein, dass einige Spieler diesmal lieber an ihrem heimischen Computer blieben, als sich auf den Weg ins Casino zu machen.<\/p>

Somit besteht, wohl berechtigte, Hoffnung, dass sich ab dem 18. April einige Teilnehmer im Bellagio tummeln werden und den Aufschwung der einst stark kriselnden WPT weiter vorantreiben.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
