\"TommyMit dem Sieg in der World Poker Tour Festa Al Lago konnte Tommy Vedes (Bild rechts) seinen persönlichen Turniergewinn-Rekord brechen, als er den gewaltigen 1,2 Millionen-Gewinntopf einstrich. Sein bis dahin bestes Abschneiden war ein 19. Platz im WSOP Main Event in diesem Jahr mit einem Gewinn von $352.832.<\/p>

Freddy Deeb hingegen blieb ein dritter WPT-Titel verwehrt und wurde auf einen – wohl enttäuschenden – vierten Platz verwiesen; seine Anstrengungen wurden mit $278.300 belohnt. Der Zweitplatzierte Jason Lavallee verdiente $795.150, während Craig Crivello $477.090 für seinen dritten Platz mit nach Hause nehmen durfte.<\/p>

Vedes verdoppelt sich durch Deeb und übernimmt Führung
\n<\/h2>

Bei nur noch vier verbliebenen Spielern gelang Vedes ein ausschlaggebendes und sehr glückliches Verdoppeln auf Kosten Freddy Deeb's, was ihm in die Pole Position einbrachte. Deeb, unter Zugzwang, raiste um 400.000. Aus der Position des Buttons heraus re-raiste Vedes, der knapp über 3 Millionen in Chips hielt, auf 1,25 Millionen.<\/p>

\"FreddyDeeb entschied sich, All-in zu gehen, nachdem er Vedes' Chips hatte zählen lassen. Vedes callte - der 6,25 Millionen-Topf wurde der bisher größte des Turniers. Deeb zeigte seine , dem Vedes' unterlegen war. Vedes, schon mit Blick zur Tür, geriet in Hochstimmung, nachdem auf die auf dem River folgte.<\/p>

Lavallee und Vedes kämpfen um ersten Platz<\/h2>

In einem der längeren Heads-up, die gespielt wurden, benötigte Vedes 51 Hände, bevor es ihm gelang, Jason Lavallee zu verabschieden. Vedes ging zwar als leichter Chipleader ins Rennen, aber beide wechselten sich fortan in der Führung ab. Kurzzeitig hielt Lavallee eine 4:1 Führung über Vedes, doch nur bis Vedes einige Hände später ausgleichen und verdoppeln konnte.<\/p>

Die entscheidende Hand des Abends wurde jene, in der Lavallee als geringfügiger Chipleader mit All-in pushte, nachdem Vedes geraist hatte. Vedes callte sofort und zeigte mit die dominierende Hand. Vedes Fünfer genügten für eine 6:1 Führung, wohingegen Lavallee's Stack gerademal 12,5 Big Blinds zählte. Nur einige Hände später war das Spiel entschieden.<\/p>
