Hinter den vier Halbfinalisten liegt ein langer, steiniger Weg. Die starken Kontrahenten verlangten ihnen alles ab. Gus Hansen (Bild rechts) konnte unter anderem Phil Ivey ausschalten, Collopy bezwang Huck Seed, Vaswani behielt gegen Yevgeniy Timoshenko die Oberhand und Feldman konnte Daniel Negreanu an die Rails schicken.<\/p>

Die besten 16 Spieler erhalten alle einen Anteil aus dem Preispool. Darunter befinden sich auch einige große Namen der Pokerszene: Daniel Negreanu und Huck Seed konnten sich unter den besten 8 platzieren, Howard Lederer und Andrew Robl erreichten immerhin noch das Achtelfinale.<\/p>

Gus Hansen gegen Phil Ivey in Runde Vier<\/h2>

Die spannendste Partie des Events fand wahrscheinlich in Runde Vier zwischen Gus Hansen und Phil Ivey statt, zwei der schillerndsten Figuren in der Poker-Szene.<\/p>

Ivey hatte Hansen am Rande einer Niederlage, als er mit 380.000 Chips gegenüber Hansens 100.000 in Führung ging. Dieser konnte am Ende jedoch zurückschlagen und den Rückstand zusehendst verkleinern, bevor ihm der Double-up gelang. Hansen ging auf einem \"4s\"\"Ts\"\"5h\" Board bei einem 75.000-Pot mit \"3c\"\"3d\" All-in für weitere 120.000 Chips. Ivey snapcallte ihn mit \"Qd\"\"Td\". Die \"3s\" auf dem Turn kam Hansen zu Hilfe und der River brachte neben einer Blank den Wechsel im Chiplead. <\/p>

Phil Ivey: \"Es war mir ein Vergnügen\"<\/h2>

Nach weiteren zehn Minuten war das Duell vorüber, als Ivey mit \"6s\"\"6d\" in Hansens \"Js\"\"Jc\" lief. Nach mehreren Preflop-Raises war Ivey All-in und musste zusehen, wie Hansen am Flop mit dem \"Jh\" sein Set komplettierte. Da Turn und River keine Hilfe brachten, war das Turnier für Ivey vorüber. Mit den Worten \"Been a pleasure\" verließ er den Tisch.<\/p>

Die Halbfinalpartien beginnen bei einem Blindlevel von 4.000\/8.000 Chips. Jeder Spieler geht mit 960.000 Chips in das Rennen, in dem in der Finalen Heads-up-Partie im Modus Best of Three gespielt werden wird.<\/p>
