Escoger a jugadores para ganar el Main Event de las WSOP no solo es duro, es casi ridículo. Pero a todos nos gusta escoger a algunos favoritos, esperando poder llegar a ver a uno posando con la mano ganadora.<\/p>

El editor inglés de PokerStrategy.com, vhallee, ha escogido a sus favoritos para ganar el brazalete del Main Event de las WSOP. Pero también nos interesan vuestras predicciones, así que no dudéis en escribirlas en la sección de comentarios.<\/p>

\"PhilConsiderado por muchos el mejor jugador del mundo, Phil Ivey también lidera la lista de ganancias totales con $12.829.989, según HendonMob. El profesional de Full Tilt<\/a> ya está familiarizado con las WSOP en general, ya que siete brazaletes llevan su nombre, dos de ellos ganados el año pasado. También acabó 7º en el Main Event de 2009, pero aún le falta este brazalete en su galería de trofeos.\n

Además de sus impresionantes logros, tiene otra razón para unirse a la cacería de brazaletes de este año: Howard Lederer se apostó $5 millones con Ivey a que no podía ganar dos brazaletes de las WSOP entre 2010 y 2011. Por supuesto a él le resultará mucho más fácil ganarlos en dos eventos aleatorios, ya que no solo es un gran jugador en No Limit u Omaha, pero todos podemos soñar con Ivey ganando también el Main Event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

El joven profesional del Team PokerStars<\/a> saltó a escena en 2008, tras ganar el European Poker Tour de San Remo y llevarse $1.372.893. Desde entonces, ha seguido cosechando grandes resultados en varios eventos, principalmente en los EE.UU. El 2009 fue su año, ya que ganó multitud de torneos y su primer brazalete de las WSOP. Sospechamos que este año va a volver a por más.<\/p>\n

Con éxito no solo en las mesas en vivo, también en las virtuales, Mercier parece ser un gran jugador híbrido, a menos que, por supuesto, lo mostrado solo haya sido una racha descomunal. Hasta ahora ha ganado casi $5 millones en torneo y es probable que dicha cifra ascienda muchísimo tras las WSOP.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

En 2009 estuvo a punto de conseguir su primer brazalete de las WSOP, terminando 2º en un evento $5.000 Pot Limit Omaha, así que sospechamos que en 2010 puede cambiar eso y llevarse al menos uno. Hasta ahora ha jugado lo bastante bien como para lograrlo, pero nunca se puede estar seguro al 100%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

<\/strong>Seamos sinceros por un momento: a todo el mundo le cae bien Daniel Negreanu. Sus impresionantes logros, sus espectaculares lecturas y su vivaracha personalidad lo convierten en uno de los personajes más queridos del mundo del poker. A pesar del hecho de que sus aventuras en el cash (principalmente en el programa de televisión High Stakes Poker) no le han ido muy bien, el profesional del Team PokerStars sigue siendo un gran jugador de torneos.<\/p>\n

Las ganancias de su carrera le colocan en el segundo puesto de la lista de ganancias totales, algo de lo que se puede estar orgulloso. Ya ha ganado cuatro brazaletes de las WSOP y también estuvo a punto de conseguir uno en las WSOP Europa el año pasado, cuando quedó segundo. El poker es un juego dominado por hombres, pero eso no significa que haya que subestimar a las jugadoras. Liv Boeree, Vanessa Rousso, Annie Duke, Jennifer Harman o Annete Obrestad, tienen posibilidades de ganar el Main Event.<\/p>\n

Los últimos resultados demuestran que las mujeres pueden ser rivales muy duras en el poker. Liv Boeree ganó el trofeo del EPT San Remo, Vanessa Selbst se llevó el North American Poker Tour, Annie Duke ganó el Campeonato nacional de heads-up 2010 de la NBC y Annette Obrestad acaba de cumplir los 21 años, por lo que podrá debutar en las WSOP. Todo esto demuestra que hay posibilidades de que el brazalete del Main Event de este año acabe en la muñeca de una mujer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

Qué esperar de las WSOP de este año<\/h2>

Al ser la principal parada para todos los jugadores de poker profesionales y el mayor sueño para cualquier aspirante, las World Series of Poker tienen una difícil tarea por delante: demostrar una vez más que es la cumbre del mundo del poker.
