En el caso de que te lo hayas perdido, soy un fanático de Pairrd ICM<\/a> elaborado por Raise Your Edge. Habiendo co-escrito un libro de ICM<\/a> tengo un sesgo obvio, pero Pairrd ICM muestra los factores de ICM en etapas tempranas en MTTs y una de las características más útiles es la comparación del rango ChipEV (cEV) con el rango equivalente de ICM.<\/p>

Comparar el ICM con el cEV es algo que hemos hecho ampliamente en nuestros tres últimos libros y creo que es importante que los jugadores lo hagan, para desarrollar un instinto reflexivo sobre cómo cambiar su juego cuando el ICM es un factor.<\/p>

Para mostrar lo que quiero decir, voy a hacer una simple comparación de CEV e ICM para el mismo spot. Esto es de Pairrd ICM y es la respuesta de Hijack a una open-bet de UTG+2, 40 ciegas grandes efectivas. No voy a compartir cuán grande es el MTT o en qué etapa del torneo se encuentra, así que seguir ciegamente este rango sería un gran error. En su lugar, sólo presta atención a las diferencias y saber que estás relativamente cerca del dinero, pero no podrías llamarlo burbuja todavía.<\/p>

Primero que todo, éste es el rango cEV:<\/p>

Es un rango lineal tight del 15.51% de las manos. Aunque es lineal<\/a>, el rango está divido en un rango de subida bastante polarizado<\/a> de las manos premiums más grandes y manos suited más débiles como faroles, también como un rango de call condensado<\/a> de pares pequeños y manos Ax suited y broadways suited más grandes. Sin embargo, hay una mezcla en ambos rangos por razones de protección.<\/p>

Esto tiene sentido, quieres las manos grandes para los botes de 3-bet cuando un jugador de posición temprana ha abierto y quieres que tus faroles bloqueen el rango de call, por lo que las manos Ax son los mejores faroles. Manos como AJs y KQs no son tan buenas contra un rango de 3-bet call,pero lo hacen bien en botes con una sola subida y juegan bien en multiways si otro jugador iguala. Todavía hay algún valor de set mining con las parejas pequeñas, por lo que tienen sentido como calls.<\/p>

Ahora veamos el mismo rango, pero el ICM es significativo:<\/p>

Lo primero y más obvio es que el rango es mucho más tight de manera general,<\/strong> sólo el 11.71% de las manos comparado con el 15.51%. Esto tiene sentido, la amenaza de quedar eliminado hace más tight nuestro rango y deberíamos esperar que UTG+2 tenga un rango de apertura más tight también<\/p>

El rango se inclina mucho más hacia el 3-bet esta vez<\/strong>, ahora sólo tenemos un rango de call muy pequeño. Las manos más grandes y los blockers vuelven a 3-betear de farol nuevamente, y el rango de call es similar, ya que se compone de Ax\/broadway suited y parejas más pequeñas, pero es un rango más pequeño en general. El rango se inclina más hacia el 3-bet porque podemos ejercer presión de ICM sobre nuestro oponente. Algunas personas piensan que el ICM te hace jugar como un nit, pero eso es sólo una cara de la moneda, cuando puedes presionar a un oponente significa que puedes jugar más agresivamente.<\/p>

La gran diferencia entre estos dos rangos es la forma<\/em> de los rangos.<\/strong> El rango ICM no sólo se ha reducido, sino que los tipos de manos que lo componen han cambiado. Se han eliminado las parejas pequeñas y los conectores del mismo palo, porque se necesita una mano muy fuerte para 'stackearse' cuando el ICM es un factor y estas manos no lo hacen con la suficiente frecuencia como para justificar su juego.<\/p>

A pesar de que el rango es más tight, se han añadido algunas manos. Se han añadido al rango A4o, A2s y más Kx del mismo palo con malos kickers. ¿Por qué, cuando el rango se ha reducido significativamente, se han añadido estas manos aparentemente basura al rango, a expensas de manos como el 88 (que ahora se juega raramente)?<\/p>

La razón es que los Ax y Kx suitedjuegan bien en los spots de ICM, cuando se juegan agresivamente. Una mano como A2s o K6s funciona bien como farol porque bloquean manos como AK, que son una proporción mayor del rango de 3-bet en comparación con el cEV. Cuando les hacen call, a veces tienen manos de una pareja que son lo suficientemente buenas como para ir en botes con SPR bajos (stack-to-pot ratio)<\/a> y también a veces tienen ligan colores que superan a las manos que las dominan. Por supuesto, lo que se busca principalmente es conseguir folds con ellas.<\/p>

Este es un ejemplo muy simple que muestra por qué es tan importante estudiar ICM. Jugar más tight es sólo una pieza del rompecabezas, a veces se puede jugar de forma mucho más agresiva y casi siempre deben cambiar los tipos de manos que se juegan.<\/p>
