\nNo hay una regla clara que determine cuál de los días iniciales de un torneo
\ngrande es el mejor para comenzar a jugar, pero por lo general el último atrae
\nuna mayor cantidad de jugadores. Tal vez por practicidad -para evitar tener un
\ndía libre entre una jornada de juego y otra-, o sencillamente porque al ser la
\núltima oportunidad de participar los indecisos terminan decidiéndose. El Día 1b
\ndel WPT Spanish Championship 2008<\/b> no fue la excepción, y ello
\npermitió que el total de participantes superara al de la
\nprimera edición jugada en 2007<\/a>. \n

\npesar de ello, el número de registros no fue el esperado por la organización,
\nque tampoco pudo garantizar medio millón de euros al ganador. De todos modos,
\n€400.000<\/b> es una cifra más que respetable para unos pocos días
\nde trabajo en las mesas. Además del ganador, otros 26 jugadores pasarán por
\ncaja, cobrando un mínimo de €7.500. <\/p>\n

La jornada tuvo la participación de
\nvarios jugadores destacados, como Bertrand ElkY<\/i> Grospellier, Juha
\nHelppi, Bill Edler, Erik Friberg, los locales Marga González, Raúl Mestre de Unibet<\/a>, Óscar Blanco,
\nSantiago Terrazas, y también la del campeón defensor, el alemán Markus
\nLehmann<\/a>, que poco antes de la medianoche vio truncado su sueño de repetir el título, cuando sus cowboyos<\/i> cayeron frente a un color:
\n\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\tEn un flop con tres cartas bajas y dos diamantes, Lehmann fue all in con
\n\t , y su
\n\trival vio con .
\n\tEl turn

\n\triver fue un golpe doloroso.

\njuego se interrumpió al fin del nivel 7, restando 75<\/b> jugadores en la mesa. Todos

\n1a<\/a> regresarán hoy al Casino Barcelona para disputar el Día 2 de este WPT
\nSpanish Championship. El líder sigue siendo el brasileño Thiago
\nTheDecano<\/i> Nishijima<\/b>, con 85.375 puntos, seguido por David
\nHoward con 85.250, y Erik Friberg, con 76.750. <\/p>\n

El Día 2 comenzará hoy a
\npartir de las 15:00 de España. El juego continuará hasta que resten unos 40
\nsobrevivientes, que a su vez deberán volver a luchar entre sí el Día 3, jornada
